Don't do anything, this might be a bad thing to people who read this but hey they'll need to learn to fight their own battles you don't know what the person has in his pocket.

What do you think? Stand up for the little guy and be a hero. Though with the use of the word "nerd" you are most likely not going to help. Labels hurt. How old are you?
Keep in mind, this kid could turn out to be a good friend. And may have a lot of good qualities. Be a real "man" and do the right thing. You already know what it is.

To the "nerd" you are probley the nerd. My father was a boxer.Us boys in the family learnt the ropes. When we were in school we taught the bullies that if they picked on the so called nerds that they would have us to contend with. Therefore we didn't have much of a problem with this going on in our school.Never got beat but did do some beating.Don't let this thing go on if you can prevent it. THE WORLD IS TO FULL OF BULLIES.

Well since you used the word in the past tense, I'm assuming this already occurred. There's nothing wrong with sticking up for the little guy. And if you get the crap beat out of you trying to protect him, at least he won't feel as weak.

Help the kid out. It's the right thing to do, and if it were the other way around you would hope someone would help you. Most likely the kid didn't do anything to desrve to be beaten up. Nerds just get picked on because they're nerds.

Stop it if you can, preferably by shaming the bully and not getting yourself beat up in the process. Otherwise, report it to a teacher or another adult. Reporting bullying is NOT tattling. It's the only right thing to do. Bullies won't stop if no one stops them, and the violence can escalate. Remember Colombine.

Try to help he might wind up being a cool person who in return might be able to help you with something one day ... This could be an opportunity for you to grow into a fine young man

I would hope that you would try to stop it. It doesn't matter who is being beat up, whether they are a 'nerd', your best friend, or the coolest person in school-no one should be subjected to that.

Think about how he felt when he had to go home and explain to his parents what happened. Think of how he felt when he lied on his bed and couldn't sleep thinking of what happened to him, what he did to deserve this, what he could have done differently, would it happen again, what would he say/do when he passes by his bully. Think that maybe this could lead to low self esteem or suicide. Think of reporting the bully.
