Just because you have been with a girl for a long time doesn't mean that she is the one for you. Everyone uses the quote that the grass is not greener on the other side, but go outside and really look at the different lawns. Some of the grass actually is greener on the other side. That's not to say that it doesn't have biting insects and dead spots. My point is that you have to realize what YOU really want. I know too many people that have stayed in ridiculous relationships b/c they had been in them for a long time. The best advice is to consider your options and follow your heart. T.D. Jakes once gave an analogy titled 80/20. In this he talks about how people love 80% of what they mates are but will leave because they see the other 20% of what they want in someone else. So it is up to you to decide....

You need to think about this very carefully. You only have one chance at life and you want to have as few regrets as possible. You have put 1.5 years into your relationship with your girlfriend. I am not sure what you mean by 'ideal.' What is it about this woman that makes her 'ideal?' It does sound like you're having doubts, and if you are, it might be best not to be with your girlfriend. You have put in time, but there is no reason to drag it out. Of course you and your girlfriend will be hurt by a breakup, but if you are only prolonging the inevitable, then maybe its time to end it. I wouldn't jump from one woman to the other, however. You need time to sort out your feelings, and then after, maybe you can be with this 'ideal' woman. But be careful, everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Nobody is 'perfect'.

Well heres the thing, does your "ideal" woman love you as much as your current girlfriend? Don't do something you are gonna regret, especially if you still have strong feelings for your girlfriend today. If you chose to go for the woman of your dreams you are most likely to be single quickly because she could be something you want, but you could not be what she wants.

The grass is not greener on the other side.............. It may look good from where you are standing now, but once you are on the other side you see that the grass is very much dead and what you had was so much better.................. Just something to think about.
