Cnn.com article says "Courts make it tougher on illegals"!!! "The supreme court on Thursday dealt a blow to some longtime ILLEGAL residents,upholding the deportation of a mexican man who lived in the U.S. for twenty years". He had (finally) married a U.S. resident whom he'd had a kid with,and he had his own business here. It's a START!!!! What WONDERFUL news!!! FINALLY we are getting some judges that are UPHOLDING the law!!!!!!!!!!!! ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!

Do you know what it costs to become a LEGAL resident of the United States? Thousands of dollars. I'm not talking about getting a green card and working a job part time and then coming back to Mexico, I'm saying... actually applying at the immigration department, and waiting..not to mention it takes up to 10 years to even get an answer. You all need to read up on your facts. Would you want to wait 10 years to get citizenship, would your kids wait 10 years to eat, because you couldn't get decent money in the country you're living in? They come here for the money. Not to take over our jobs, homes, and land. Get a clue.

Frankly, I could care less. If we become a minority, so be it. Mexicans work harder, and longer than any white folk. I'm white, and I'll tell you what, I wouldn't do half the jobs that mexicans do, for 3 bucks an hour. If you want something done, and DONE right, and not half-assed, then hire a mexican. They are always on time, they always put in more than required, and they always do a great job. Of course there's very few of them, that don't do a good job.. which is like a good portion of americans ( unemployment line is proof enough ). The way I look at it is.. If we can send troops over to IRAQ to make their government more civilized and feed other countries, etc... and all the lovely things we do for 3rd world countries, then by god we should go over to Mexico, and assist them with getting the mexican residents in mexico higher paying jobs. Their jobs over there suck. That's why they all come here. We pay 9,10,11, 12 dollars an hour. If they paid more an hour over in Mexico, we wouldn't have them crossing our borders.

You are cruel. He was married to a citizen and was deported due to the fact that he was deported previously. It is seperating a family and ruining a business, aparently you dont care about things like that and it is better to lose the taxes that the business made and tear a father away from children just because you are predjudiced against Mexican people. It is not like he killed someone, the law just used to say that once deported, you can never be here legally, now it says that once deported you must wait 10 years before trying for residency.

Ouch... that little story makes me kind of sad. Sometimes doing what is right for a country means doing something bad for a person.

We need to focus on keeping them out... and maybe there could be a guideline set for illegal immigrants that have been here for a certain number of years. Like if they are working, supporting their families, and contributing to the overall good of the nation, we could give them a chance to get nationalized before just shipping them back.

I'm all for controlling the illegal population, but I am also willing to give people a shot at life...

I don't think it's "wonderful" that a man who lived here for twenty years with a wife and child and a business had his life disrupted by our government. I don't like the trend in our country today regarding illegal immigrants. Most of those people come here for good reasons like wanting to provide a better life for themselves and their families. Instead of deporting them, imprisoning them, and hating them, we should be helping them to become citizens of the United States, as long as they uphold our laws. I don't understand the intense feelings of hatred I see today regarding this issue.
