so...DIYer refers to a person who prefers/likes to do or practice of fabricating or repairing things on one's own rather than purchasing them or paying for professional repair.

A "DIY"er is a person who is into "DIY"s. I suppose you don't know what DIY is which is why you needed to know this. So DIY means DO IT YOURSELF . It is something that an individual does in order to create something at a cheaper rate without extra cost or effort. It is a very popular thing these days. You can see so many DIYers posting new ideas online each day on so many topics, like Home Decor, Cooking, Beauty Tips, Kitchen Hacks, etc.

It means (Do It Yourself) someone who does things like home repairs themselves rather than pay someone to do the repairs. The degree of skill varies from person to person.
My father is a retired carpenter and he hated it when he was called in to fix what a DIY had made worse in trying to fix it themselves. However, he did teach us that as long as you have good instructions and follow the steps as given, it is possible to DIY and have good results.
