Typically, the knowledge of what "Mormons" really believe is limited to "Mormons." My experience is that when our doctrines are taught without the presence of the Spirit (Holy Ghost), those doctrines, (almost) guaranteed, will get twisted so far out of shape as to appear as blasphemy, and evil.

I think most other people who claim to know what we believe, (like Jim Darwin-btw- he's repeating passages that give explain why color happens, not that we discriminate against color) are talking through their back sides. That behavior tends to make one look dumber than one actually is, which can be quite a challenge sometimes... if you can follow that line of thought...

If I wanted to know what Catholicism was all about, I'd probably go to a priest, not the local synagogue. If I wanted to understand the Hindu faith, I definitely would NOT talk to a Baptist.

One truth I've found about many who say horrible things about the "Mormon" church- "You can leave the church, but you can't leave the church ALONE." Some of our most vicious opponents are former members of our church.

The other day, I drove by a Christian church in my community. It had a banner hung on the front that said "God still speaks." This church is not "Mormon", but that statement very clearly and simply states what we believe- God still speaks, and, yes, we write His words down.

In my opinion, when God speaks to the world through a man, 1)that man is a prophet, and when he writes those words down, 2)those writings are scripture- whether those words were spoken to Moses, Noah, Abraham, Joseph Smith, or Gordon B Hinkley.

We teach that each person on this planet is entitled to "revelation" apliciable to their own life. Translation: I am entilted to God's guidance as it pertains to my family, our finances, my job, my home, my church duties, etc. If I write down what God has told me, that is scripture for my life.

If there are those who would like to call that adding to the "Bible" (Latin for "library"... so how many books in a library, eh?), feel free to do so. We will find out who is right at the Bar of God. If anyone knows, He will.

BTW- Bashing, and contention in any form offends the Holy Ghost and He will leave EVERY time. This is why I refuse to "bash." (Yes, greatwhitehype, this is why I will not communicate with you again, in case you're wondering.) I'd like to think that all "Mormons" feel this way- it is what we are taught.

Ok, I am a Christian (I attend a Spirit Filled Assemblies of God Church), and I have taken a class on what other religions beleive. I know that Joseph Smith said that he translated the "book of mormon" from several tablets using seeing stones. The use of seeing stones is a form of witchcraft, and those who participate witchcraft will have their place in the lake of fire (Revelations 21:8). Furthermore, Moroni took the tablets that Smith got the book of mormon from back to heaven, leaving no proof of it's existance. The Book of Mormon talks about two civilizations that existed in North America, but there has never been a single shred of evidence found to support their existance. The Bible used in Christian Churches (not Mormon or Jehovah's Witness) has never been disproven, If Science and Historians set out to test the Bible in something, the Bible has always been proven as being true, and it was correctly translated. Later, Smith "translated" some ancient Egyptian Artifacts and called then the Pearl of Great Price, but these Egyptian Artifacts were later proved to be ancient Funeral text. When I consider these, I beleive that Mormons may be good people, but they have been misled, they are following the wrong path. Also, Mormons believe that salvation is through works, but our salvation is through faith, not good work, but faith without works is dead, so we must have faith and good works. I beleive that this "religion" was born out of Joseph Smith's witchcraft. Joseph Smith was spiritually blinded, and he spiritually blinded his followers, and a blind man cannot lead another blind man, because they will fall into a ditch (Matthew 15:14). I hope that I have removed some of your blinders and I hope that you will soon see the light! My reccomendation to you now if to seperate yourself from the Mormon church, Grab a Bible from the Christian Book Store, and attend a real, Bible based church this Sunday!

I dont' comprehend many information about Mormons. i have continuously been curious to be taught about Mormonism somewhat more effective positive. I spoke with a Mormon guy once who instructed me that a go necklace is seen as a adverse element because it represents the killing/death of Jesus Christ. He instructed me that Mormons are Christians and there truly isn't a lot distinction. yet another Mormon chum instructed me Mormons believe that after we die if we follow God's teachings that we ought to have our own universe with the human beings we adore in it with us. Is any of this actual? somebody else instructed me that Mormons believe that devil isn't undesirable and is God's son too. also that he's respected as Jesus is. also i have heard they're frequently no longer allowed any stimulants alongside with caffeine, or depressant like alcohol, drugs, etc. somebody else said some thing to me about an angel named Maroni (spelling?) and a white rabbit. Is any of this actual or does it make experience?

I know what Mormons believe because I was baptized Mormon, married a Mormon and all of my daughters are Mormon as well as the rest of the family. If you need more info, get a book of Mormon.

I know what I've heard, but I don't see any good reason to go out and do in depth research on it. Maybe I would if I wanted to marry someone who was mormon.

Jim Darwin doesn't know what he's talking about. He just pulled scriptures making it seem that's what it's all about, but if you were to read the whole book you'd understand the bigger picture.

Try visiting the website. It's a good place to start.

Racist:

People of Color
2 Nephi 5:21 "And he [God] had caused the cursing to come upon them ... wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them."

Moses 7:22 "And Enoch also beheld the residue of the people which were the sons of Adam; and they were a mixture of all the seed of Adam save it was the seed of Cain, for the seed of Cain were black, and had not place among them."

Abraham 1:21-26 "Now this king of Egypt was a descendant from the loins of Ham, and was a partaker of the blood of the Canaanites by birth. From this descent sprang all the Egyptians, and thus the blood of the Canaanites was preserved in the land. The land of Egypt being first discovered by a woman, who was the daughter of Ham, and the daughter of Egyptus, which in the Chaldean signifies Egypt, which signifies that which is forbidden; When this woman discovered the land it was under water, who afterward settled her sons in it; and thus, from Ham, sprang that race which preserved the curse in the land. Now the first government of Egypt was established by Pharaoh, the eldest son of Egyptus, the daughter of Ham, and it was after the manner of the government of Ham, which was patriarchal. Pharaoh, being a righteous man, established his kingdom and judged his people wisely and justly all his days, seeking earnestly to imitate that established by the fathers in the first generations, in the days of the first patriarchal reign, even in the reign of Adam, and also of Noah, his father, who blessed him with the blessing of the earth, and with the blessings of wisdom, but cursed him as pertaining to the Priesthood.

(The Books of Moses and Abraham are from "The Pearl of Great Price", which, although not in the Book of Mormon is, a part of Mormon scripture.)
