Because people are ignorant of the whole Bible and just listen to what their preacher tells them.

Because of the traditions of men that have flooded the church and also paganism during Ceasar's time of legitimizing christianity alot of compromise was made and therefore the Sabbath was gradually dropped out for sunday. However, now more than ever we see that it is again being proclaimed, especially by Seventh day adventists and thus it is apart of the law of God and breaking it is a sin. 1 John 3 states what sin is, breaking the law of God. If we love Jesus we will keep his commandments - thats what he said. People are becoming more aware of the truth about the Sabbath but they are not willing to accept if because of pride, ignorance, but still there are many who are accepting it still.

In judaism, the sabbath was typically the last day of the week. In the Creation story, God rested on the Sabbath. So, I guess the sabbath could be considdered whatever day of the week you have off, or, these days, depends on your personal preference. I think that as long as we have one day set aside to remember the Lord and to worship and spend time with Him while we rest from the week's work, we're fine. I personally worship on Sunday, and we usually have excelent services, but I'm not offended by your question. It's all good. As long as you have time set aside for God, I think it's fine, no matter what day of the week.

It's not about when you do it. It's about doing it at all- with your heart at the right place. Some people worship on the sabbath, but are somewhere else in their minds. Isn't it better, then, to do it consciously on a sunday instead?

And isn't the sabbath a sunday???

The Hebrew holy day is Saturday, the Christian is Sunday, the Moslem is Friday. So what? As long as the participant holds true to the teachings of his faith, I don't see a problem. Few Christians do truly hold the Sabbath completely holy as an Orthodox Jew might, though.

The Sabbath is on Saturday in one book, and on Sunday in another.

They can't even get THAT right.

In the early days of christianity worship did take place on saturday .. at that time the Jews and the christians were still on fairly good terms. As the gap between Jews and christians widened the christians moved their day of worship to separate themselves from the Jews.

The day of the week is not important.

Mark 2:27
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Jesus and His disciples picked corn on the Sabbath, the Pharassees condemned them for it. Jesus healed sick people on the Sabbath, the pharassees condemned him for it. So the fact that we do it on a certain day is irrelavent, but we should follow it, one day a week, probably whichever day is most convenient for you.

Just a comment-that's not the ONLY commandment that people are "blind" to! Unfortunately.
