Suppose a pipe is rigidly fixed at one end to a wall. The axis of the pipe is perpendicular to the surface of the wall. You fix a pipe-wrench on the free end and try to rotate the wrench about the axis of the pipe. You are now, applying a torque called Twisting Moment (N-m) to the pipe through the wrench. The pipe develops a resistance to this twisting so that it can regain its original configuration when you release the twisting moment from it. This resistance is also in the form of torque (N-m) and is called Torsional Moment.

Thus, Twisting Moment and Torsional Moment are like action and reaction; both are different forms of torque exactly as action and reaction are different forms of force.

I hope I have given you a clear physical insight on this topic.

It is very difficult to explain this without a drawing!

Well, Torsional moment: The algebraic sum of the couples or the moments of the external forces about the axis of twist or both in a body being twisted.
When you have a bar, for example...you can apply a twisting moment or a torsional moment!
T = Fxr
M = Fxr
Unit [ N*m ]
the difference between T and M is witch component
of the force F is related with the x or y axes!
For example:
If you apply a force F in a screwdriver you are doing a Torsional moment, but when you stay on the bottom of a springboard, you are doing a Twisting moment..in every internal seccion of the bodies.

I'm sorry if I'm not being clear...I speak portuguease and I'm not that good in english!
