Sol′o·mon) [from a root meaning “peace”].
Son of King David of the line of Judah; king of Israel from 1037 to 998 B.C.E.

Solomon ruled with great wisdom, a wisdom that far surpassed that of the ancient Greeks. He built a magnificent temple to God.

King Solomon began to build this temple in the fourth year of his reign and completed it after seven and a half years. For its construction he conscripted all the temporary residents of the land, 153,600 of them. Additionally, he drafted 30,000 Israelites, who served in relays of 10,000, working one month out of three. While these figures may seem large, they compare favorably with those given for the time and workers it took to build one of the pyramids of Egypt, the temple to Diana at Ephesus and the Taj Mahal in more recent times.—1 Ki. 5:13-15; 6:1, 38; 2 Chron. 2:17, 18.
However, even Solomon fell away to the worship of false gods. At his death the kingdom was ripped in two, and a succession of wicked kings in the rival kingdoms of Israel and Judah acted ruinously, bringing distress to the people, just as Samuel had predicted. (1 Sam. 8:10-18)

King Solomon was the favored son of King David, and the child of David and Bathsheba who was born after their "love child" died. See II Samuel 12:24 in its context. In the first few chapters of the book of Kings we read about the controversy surrounding David's choice for this son to replace him as king. Chapter 4:1 says "Now king Solomon was king over all Israel." He was the Bill Gates of his time in wealth. Chapters 5-10 tell us all about it.

In I Kings 4:29-34 we read: "Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore. And Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men...He also spoke 3000 proverbs, and his songs were 1005...And men came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom." The Lord even gave Solomon scientific knowledge. See verse 33.
When God blessed Solomon as His chosen king He said "Ask what you wish me to give you". Solomon's reply was to ask for wisdom. "And God said to him, 'Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for long life, nor riches, nor vengeance on your enemies...I have given you a wise and discerning heart, SO THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO ONE LIKE YOU BEFORE YOU, NOR SHALL ONE LIKE YOU ARISE AFTER YOU. And I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor..." I Kings 3:5-13
God promised Solomon long life if he would walk always in His ways. Alas, marrying many idolatrous wives was his downfall.
But while Solomon reigned Israel was prosperous and peaceful. I Kings 6 tells us that he built the first glorious temple to the Lord where the ark of the covenant was placed and the Lord's presence dwelled.
I would say as I read the story of Solomon that never a man had so much righteousness and wisdom when he walked with the Lord, but never a man fell so far and hurt his nation as much as Solomon when he walked in his own way.
Let us remember however the three important books of the Bible that Solomon wrote: Proverbs, Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes.
In Proverbs we read many of the king's wise sayings. In the Song of Solomon we read about true, romantic love and this is an allegory of the great love between God and the people who serve Him. In Ecclesiastes we read about life, with all its ups and downs; Solomon's conclusion is this: "The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep Hiscommandments, because this applies to every person. Because God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12: 12-13

By the way a beautiful song by The Birds in the 60s was "Turn, Turn, Turn". The words were directly from Eccl. 3
I highly recommend reading the story of Solomon, the books he wrote and the Word of the God whom he served, the Holy Bible.
When the heart is open it's fascinating stuff. Many versions and translations are available so that it doesn't have to be hard. Blessings, Buttercup

Are you asking if he wrote those books? Well if so, he didn't write Psalms, evidence points to David his father, however, Proverbs was written by him and his love at that time.
