These are two books that are not found in the Bible. The technical term for these books and others like them is Apocriphal. They are not concidered to be scripture. This is because they are not the inspired word of God. They also contradict what is written is scripture which is the inspired word of God (which is found in the Bible). We also cannot be certain who wrote these books. Sometimes back then people would write a book and then put a famous persons name on it. So to sum up, the Gospel of Judas and the Gospel of Thomas are not to be believed because they are not scripture, not the inspired word of God. In the Gospel of Judas, the claim is that Jesus asked Judas to betray him. This is untrue. It was God's will for Judas to betray Jesus to set into motion his crusifiction which allows us to avoid the penalties of our sins. We just need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and nobody else. The Gospel of Thomas is basically a list of sayings that Jesus may have said. But, the problem is that there is no way to confirm this as they are not found in scripture and are not the inspired word of God. I doubt that Jesus said any of these sayings.

The Gospel of Judas tells a different story about Judas than does the Bible. People who comes up with these books try to prove the Bible to be incorrect. The Book of Thomas was not inspired of God, if it was then it would be in the Bible. Compere theses verses with what is taught in the Book of Judas. Jesus called Judas a devil and He chose him so the scripture could be fulfilled. John 6: 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? John 17: 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. The Book of Revelation explains what will happen to anybody that would add or take away from the Word of God. Revelation 22: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The gospel of Thomas is an apocryphal book and is not in the bible. It should be available at your local book store.

the gospel of Thomas was indeed present but when the canon was put together Thomas was not included as it lacked evidence of truth to it.

those new gospels that they have "just found" arent true at all. i wouldnt go by them if i were you! some of them say stuff like to kill people if you want to and then others are saying things that totally go against the actual bible itself! those are written by people who just want to get money because they think if they lie about writing it themselves, people will think it is true and then they will be RICH! not true...!
