That'd be a big no... Black cats bring happiness to their owners and, if they happen to meet another cat, may well bring black kittens into the world.
Bad decisions bring bad luck. Sometimes bad luck just happens. Don't blame the kitties for whatever's wrong with your life.

Superstitions and Myths About The Black Cat:
Black Cats have been associated with deities, witches and magic
for centuries. Cats have been worshipped, condemned,
persecuted, have been thought of as having powers,
as being the omens of bad luck and being also a good
luck charm.
Part of the "mystery" surrounding the black cat comes
from the traditional interpretation of the color black.
Black is the color of the night, and of "evil." Black
can also be a color of elegance or class (such as a
black-tie only event, and black evening gowns.) Black
can also represent ideas such as power, sexuality,
sophistication, formality, wealth, mystery, fear, evil,
unhappiness, depth, style, sadness, remorse, anger, and
mourning.
Black can also represent a lack of color or emptiness.
It can also mean sorrow or mourning, in the Christian
tradition of wearing black to funerals. Used by itself,
black can represent bad luck or misfortune. Black also
is the color of black magic.

It's all in the mind. What you believe in will come true for you. I used to think that when i was a kid, but i've stopped. It's silly putting so much power in a cat. If someone told you that being around you brings them bad luck, would you believe it and jinx yourself??

No. They were thought to be "witch's familiars" so they were evil. Of course the black were the evilest but all cats were pretty much killed. Which helped bring in the Black Plague as there were no cats to go after the rats.

Only if it crosses your path. But you can counteract that if you stop to pet it. =)
Seriously, that's just superstition. I've always found them to be good luck in that every time I've come in contact with one I've had the good luck to have my mood instantly improved. I've always loved cats and for some reason, I've always been drawn to black cats, or black and white cats.

It's superstition and there's a twist on it in Texas a black cat comes around and it's a lucky thing (probably cause they go after the snakes) I wouldn't worry about it at all.
