Soak your chicken pieces in buttermilk or a brine of salt, vinegar, and water overnight or at least a four hours. Take some flour, Lawry's seasoned salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix those dry ingredients together real well. Heat oil (not higher that halfway the depth of pan) in either deep fryer or cast iron skillet or cast iron pot. Remove chicken from liquid and coat with flour mixture. Shake off excess before putting into hot oil. Cook until golden brown on both sides turning only once. Remove and drain on paper towels.
