I remember the way he felt in my arms, he was so warm . I also loved the way he looked at me, like he already knew me and loved me.

When my first was born, he was so very tiny. He only weighed 5lbs 14ozs and had no body fat so all his features were prominent. He had huge hands. He had slate gray eyes (wish they would have stayed that way although we enjoyed them for just over a year) and calico hair. I do mean calico - patches of cotton white, yellow blond, orange, and brown with a strip of black running from the back to the front. he also had and still has a reverse widow's peak.
My daughter was considerably bigger she was right at 8 lbs and had the gray eyes, little rosebud lips, the same huge hands and UGLY feet (I think she got those from me - lol). She was so pretty. I couldn't believe how pretty she was. And how dainty she looked. After having my tiny son, I couldn't believe that she looked so dainty. And she didn't fit the name I had be so set on (since pregnant with my son) and then spent two days talking with everyone I knew about baby names to fit this little girl's dainty looks (excluding feet of course). Which is why her middle name became Rose.

My first son looked right at me the first time I said "Hello".
My second son was hungry.
My daughter is the most memorable because the cord was wrapped around her neck and she was not breathing. She was blue for a just few seconds but it felt like an hour. I remember well the huge relief we felt when she finally started crying.
Thank you so much for asking this question! It makes me want to hug my kids and hold them till they squirm away yelling "Stop it MOM!" ~ and after the way they behaved last night that's really something!

Ok I know this is going to sound mean but six years and three other children later what always sticks out in my mind most is my first. I had a c-section and I remember them taking her out and holding her over the blue curtain and all I remember seeing was this BIG head!!! That was my first thought of my first child LOL...
As it turns out her head was a little swollen from 36 hours of labor. But also her head was 14.25 inches around and they say average babies are 12-13 inches.

I remember different things with each baby.
1- His cheeks, they were so chubby!
2- His toes were SO long!
3- She was a beautiful pink color, honestly a georgous newborn (I normally don't think newborns are pretty)
4- He was HUGE, but his eyes were deep blue
5- She had the most beautiful lips (and still does)
Something I also noticed is that when I had my second, and the first came to see me in the hospital, all of the sudden my first didn't look so babyish anymore. All of the sudden he looked bigger.

Very little in specifics after their births as the birth of both left me in a sort of state of shock, plus in those days the hospital kept them in a nursery. My son seemed to be the size of a 3 month old baby and was perfectly formed and perfect in all ways, and that was amazing and inspiring to me. I wrote a song about him then. He was a cranky baby. My daughter was thinner and had a peanut-shaped head and curly reddish hair and blue blue eyes. She was a good baby. And yes, aside from the relief of it being over, of course the overwhelming mother love one feels upon finally seeing the infant that she carried inside her for all those months, and which remains with you forever.

I remember the little angel kisses she was born with right between her eyes. Little redness that was precious. Shes 18 months old now and the spots have faded... but when shes really cranky and gets red all over, the spots come back. And i think back to those days when she was so tiny and helpless.
God how time flies!!!

I held her before anyone else did. I remember holding her and being surprised at how warm she was, her eyes were open and looking right at me. I remember how clean she was, not all bloody like I'd seen on TV. I remember her ears were flat to her head and flexible like cooked pasta, they popped into normal shape in a few days. And her nose was smashed so flat! LOL. She is and was such a beauty. :)

My daughter getting stuck in my pelvic bone. But the thing i remember the most from all three deliveries is seeing them for the first time and hearing them cry. There is nothing like it in the world.

One thing I remember...when my son was just (minutes after) born, his eyes were open, and it seemed like he was so alert, so aware of me...it seemed like he was an old soul that had come back....when my daughter was born, the first words anyone said were "it's a girl, she has red hair!"...she had the most beautiful red hair (it's still beautiful, but more strawberry blond)...they are awesome kids, and I thank God every day for them...

What I remember the most about my oldest son.. when he was born, he was really lazy and wouldn't eat, very non-chalant... all he wanted to do was sleep, just like his momma.
Now my youngest son... what I remember the most about him was that he was so big and had such personality the day he was born... I also LOVED the fact... that he started sleeping through the night at 1month old.. how ya LOVE that!
