LOL!!! That was cute. Personally I try not to lump people together just because they happen to be using the same label. I will do this, though, if I see others doing it. Like a Christian telling me the other day that all Pagans are liars, sleep around with everyone, etc. To which I simply replied, and all Christians are like Jim Jones, would you like some kool-aid? ^_^
But overall, no, I don't think Christians in general are like that. Though I have to say some are just downright nuts.

No. Just some Christians. Most (an overwhelming majority, in fact) are nice people who do not resort to expelling flames from their mouths at you if you dissent from their worldview. I must state, though, that they are very handy at barbeques if you can find the few who do that. Saves loads on lighter fluid. If you get them really wound up, you don't need the grill. Just hold the platter in front of their mouths and say "You know, I was wondering why Christians are so upset that Jesus got married and had kids ..." and <*poof*> you get instant well-done steaks. Oh, can't forget, though, you must wear the suits that vulcanologists wear or you will die.

And for the record, yes, that's what non-Christians think of Christians. I'd say I don't think of ALL Christians that way, but all visible Christians (involved in politics, talk radio, writing books (Ann Coulter)) and most Christians on Yahoo! Answers are this way.

We get flamed a lot by these people for not believing. Why can't we be left alone?

Not all Christians are that bad. I've been berrated by many because I have chosen to follow Wicca. They need to understand that Christianity is not for everyone. The Closed-Minded Hypocrites in the bunch are the ones that really get to me. Those Christian types that follow the open-mindedness of Christ are Some great folks.

Honestly, I bet that is what a lot of people think about Christians because a lot of Christians like to condemn others. But what they seem to forget is Jesus talked to and dined with the undesirables because he loved everyone. I'm a Christian myself and I hope some day all those who don't understand the true meaning of Christian (Christ-like) finally catch on and represent the faith appropriately.

You get a bunch of religious people together walk in the middle of them and say what you feel and your beliefs and instead of helping you or listening, or try to give you any help they will devoure you they don't show the love, and kindness they preach, someone different from them is ganged up on and ran out thats GODS love. I have seen a homeless dirty person sit in the back of a church sevice and they are like a pack of wild dogs. YOU get more kindness from a street gang.

Alot of Zealots make themselves out that way. And, at the core of Christianity the message is: " Believe what we believe or you WILL rot in hell!" So, yes that is what they are like to everyone who will not change what they believe, I've seen it first hand growing up as a preacher's daughter. And, I know that the more a person is convinced and passionate about their belief in God, the more mental problems they actually have. Those that have had the kind of experience you allude to probably do. The only gospel some people ever read is the actions and attitudes of a christian they encounter. In some cases it is a very sad situation.

Fundamentalist ones -- yes. And the rest of Christianity doesn't try to convert people, so no one notices us.
