Can't, speaking personally. Trumpet player friend of mine does. He's pretty impossible to work with, tends to lose the plot with fellow musicians regularly. So he started his own quartet, named after him. Haven't heard the band, but no doubt it's good. He's one who can ONLY blow his own trumpet, not anyone else's, so that setup works for him.

No, I don't own a trumpet.
But I do have a nice skin flute, that I let other people blow.

Do you mean " Toot your own horn" ? yes, I believe we all do to a certain level... But...too much and we are considered arrogant!! Sometimes we need to because praise is lacking in our world today. Everybody is too busy " Tooting their own horn" and not paying attention to the wonderful things people are doing around us....
