I for one, will show up to find out if my congressman and senators plan to listen to me about illegal immigration. Never in my whole life did I think our country would be held "hostage" by Mexico. The government there has been funneling their people here just as fast as they can. Only the uninformed or the totally closed-minded fail to see there is a plan of invasion going on. Those illegals who are here only for a better life are....and will be badly used by those who have a plan...called AZTLAN.

Please, show up and ask them the really hard questions. Don't let them do the "political dance" by using a lot of words in their answers that don't mean anything.

Also, ask the same questions of your govenors, your attorney generals, and ALL your local elected officials. I just found out that our local Attorney General of Utah has strong ties with Mexico. A personal thing on his part that totally clouds his vision and has caused him to help illegals get driver's licences here.

I already sent letters, I hope others do the same. We need strong controls on the borders in order to keep the demographics from going nutz. There's no way in HELL our economy's going to create jobs at the rate of expansion the Senate's advocating, so our representatives need to step and in one voice call 'BULLSHI%' on the whole mess, and spin up the Border Patrol to the level of effectiveness required to get the flippin' job done. Mexico needs reforms, and the only way they'll happen at this point is if they have a really POWERFUL, boot-like incentive for doing so.

Conflicts of interest in public office are part of the very history and fabric of the american political story. Another part of that fabric(the big patch that looks like it got put over a bunch of little holes and stuff) is where the voters have taken these guys to task by calling them out on their ethics.and dismissing/recalling those that have a demonstrated conflict of interest that is preventing them from doing their jobs effectively.

Illegal immigration's a toughie, not a simple issue, and not solved by a signature on a piece of paper. You also have to get to the root cause of illegal immigration, which is partly our own businesses growing too enamored with high incomes, and partly abject poverty overseas in countries that've been on the american aid teat for too many decades without really standing up and tending to their own problems. There's no army in the world that can fight the consequences of that, so policy reforms are really important. If our own representatives can't see the light on that one, someone needs to give em new batteries for the flashlight, and the calculator, too. Failing that, a new job at Wendy's or something, where their first new task will be to learn SPANISH. Like the customers have to...

My Congressman is a Democrat and he doesn't listen to anything but the party talking points memo. Might as well have 200 Howard Deans in the House Chamber.

My congressman tried to point the finger elsewhere in his answer. And then he started to give a run around on his views. And then he tried to pacify the group by trying to agree with them even though he voted different than the majority in the room. And then he said something different than a letter he sent (which I brought with me) and when I showed it to him he went back to pointing the figure elsewhere and never answered the question. Democrat he was-good speaker-but a lying deceiving snake.

That's the question, I don't know if it's the public, only politicians, or their party members on what format they will use. I do know I read it was only to be in the border states after they said the whole country.

Arizona is Aug 14th...give us details guys!

If the congressman is a Democrat, don't bother. Her answer will be "Bush blah, blah, blah, blah, ..."

And for the uninformed individual above me: what would you rather attach Osama with, pink leaflets?
