his body was changed -- it is a fusion of physical and spiritual. we can see from what happened after his resurrection that he didn't have physical limitations anymore ("appearing" in a locked room in the midst of the disciples) but he could still be touched and still had scars. this is the same kind of body we look forward to having at his second coming. I don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says that heaven isn't a physical place -- i think it is just in a different plane than we are.

I LOVE your question!!! Very thoughtful and introspective.
Let's talk about life and death. The creation of life is the uniting of the spirit with the body.
Death is the separation of the spirit and the body. The spirit lives, while the body is dead and in the grave.
Resurrection is the uniting (once again) of the two.
Here's the truth: Jesus Christ still has a body! There is no "un-resurrection". All men (good, bad, ugly, etc) will one day be resurrected.
When we are dead (before the resurrection) we will have spirit, but no body. At the resurrection, we will recieve a perfect body (one that won't die, decay, or become sick, etc) unlike our mortal bodies that we have now.
I can't image a heaven where I won't feel my wife's touch, taste a mango, go for a swim, or feel the grass under my feet. I don't think that's the only thing that it's about, but it's a step up, not a step down.

Enoch and Ezekiel were taken into heaven without having died first, so its apparently a physical place, not just a spiritual one. At the end of times, the dead will rise first, and be given new, whole bodies (since most are all dust and stuff by now), so we'll need bodies, therefore heaven is not just a spritual place. So Jesus is right there in that same body.

Very good question. Heaven is a physical place as well as a spiritual place. God is Spirit but Jesus did have a physical body as well. The reason for all the confusion is what the preachers are teaching as truth that is really a lie that Satan began in the Garden of Eden. Read it for yourself in Genesis 3:1-6. In verse 4 you find what the lie is. God said that in the day Adam and Eve were to eat the forbidden fruit, they would die. Satan said in verse 4, you will not die. So who was right? Did they die or did they live on forever and still alive today? Yet you will hear at any funeral service that the person is in Heaven but where in the bible does it say you go to Heaven when you die? I will help you with that one, NOWHERE!! If you look at 1 Thess. 4:16-17, you find we go to Heaven when Jesus returns, not like a dripping faucet as most will tell you one by one. Jesus will return and we will be called from the grave or those that are alive will be caught up together with those that have been raised from the dead and we will all go together. Why, if we were all just spirits, would there be any need for Jesus to come back to get His people? Yet, in John 14:1-3 He states He will come again to get us and take us to be with Him in homes that He will actually prepare for us. If we are spirits, why do we need houses to live in? There are many places that speak of us having houses we build in the country, us eating the fruits of our labors, etc. Would a spirit need to eat, to build a house? What kind of body did Jesus have when He appeared to the Apostles? Flesh and bones. Read where Thomas said he would not believe accept he put his finger in the nail holes and his hand in His side. He even asked for some fish and honeycomb to eat after His resurrection. Would a spirit need to eat? We will have real flesh and bone bodies in Heaven, perfect bodies that will be made perfect when we are resurrected and taken back to Heaven. Death is referred to as a sleep in the bible but the second death is to be experienced by those that reject Jesus and live for Satan. They will be burned up, turned to ashes, die the second death and then will be no more. You will find no place that says we will burn for all eternity in Hell if we do not make it. If you can find just one scripture, I will give you $10,000 cash money. It just is not there. To be in Hell for all eternity would mean you have to have some form of life but if you look in 1 John 5:12, you find it says that "He who has the Son has life but he that does not have the Son of God does not have life." Opposite of life is death, not life eternal in Hell fire. So Jesus body is in Heaven right now as you find in many places, one of which is Acts 1:9-11. There it says very plain that Jesus was taken up into Heaven and will come just as He went to get us at the end of the Earth. Go to the following site and do some of the studies that are there. It will teach you a lot of things I am sure you wonder about as I once did. It will teach you the truth of the bible and not just some theories or false teachings. It takes the bible and the bible only and lets you be the one to judge what it is saying to you.

I think you have a very valid question. As a Buddhist, I believe in reincarnation and that the body is just a vessel for your soul.
If I remember the Catholicism crammed down my throat as a kid, my parents bible had a picture of him rising into the air and I remember from my prayers "sits at the right hand of God."
So, I guess if you take the bible literally, there IS a physical heaven where God presides over the world/universe and Jesus is right next to him.

The apostle's creed says He ascended up into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I would also point out to you that the prophet Elijah and also Enoch are there in bodily form as well. Neither of them died, as you will find if you read your Bible. So whatever people have told you, heaven is a real place where real accumulations of atoms (called human bodies) can exist. That is where Jesus's body is at this point in time.
e where real accumulations of atoms ( called human bodies)

I am answering this as a Catholic Christian according to my beliefs: Jesus was resurrected and had a glorified body in heaven and the Catholic church teaches that the resurrection means not only that the immortal soul will live on after death, but that even our "mortal body" will come to life again.

We have so many of our churches today, whose ministers are full of baloney, and they don't know what they are talking about. That blood in Christ’s body was not human blood. Let me tell you why. Jesus said, in Hebrews 10, verses 4 & 5, it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sin. So when He came into the world, He said, because of it, My Father prepared a special body for Me with precious blood in it, I Peter 1:19. Do you know that the blood of a woman never enters a fetus? All children have only the blood of the male partner. And because Adam sinned, Romans 5 verses 12 and 18 and 19, that blood could not go into Christ, or it would be tainted, wicked, sinful blood. So they bypassed a man's sperm, because of the work of the Holy Spirit producing that special body in that virgin with special blood. Let's get rid of this garbage that’s going on in so many of our denominations today.

Finally, someone who sees the sense of the physical vs the spirit/soul. Jesus appeared to his diciples following his death in the spirit/soul. The body was probably moved by his friends from the cave in which he had been buried to prevent grave robbers. There were many rich men available as his friends to remove his body to a safe burial ground.

Jesus experienced corporal resurrection. In other words he stayed with his body. A few other people in the Bible have made a bodily journey into heaven (e.g. Enoch, Mary)
