Do you know what a parable is? It's a ficticious story used to illustrate a moral or religious idea. i.e Jonah and the Whale, or great fish, or sea monster or whatever else you call it.

Please learn to read the bible correctly. It's called literay form.

Yes.

But you are the one that needs to learn how to read.

The literary form is when in a story a person tells a story to make a point. Like jesus telling about a 10 maidens .... The story about Jonah is not told that way.

That non the less this is about morality you may be right but a parable it is not.

Yes, I know what a parable is, but I also know that the bible says, "But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days, and three nights." Jonah 1:17. That's not a parable. That's the bible telling what God did to Jonah. Later on, Jesus again shows that that actually happened to Jonah when he tells the Pharisees, "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the center of the earth." Matthew 12:40.

Yes, I know what a parable is. I was going to answer your question, but you answered it yourself! However, I do believe that Jonah and the big fish really happened. There were many miracles documented in the Bible for us. Jesus was the Greatest and Best Teacher and he used parables to teach. Some examples are the prodigal son, the pearl of great price, and the parable of the Good Samaritan.

I agree with you, though the Bible to me is simply another reference or history book with a lot of fiction and opinion thrown in.
