You do realize that the bible is a work of fiction, don't you?

The Bible said God "prepared" (created) a great fish. The implication is God created a special fish perhaps on the spot for this particular purpose. Anyone saying it was a "Whale" is just speculating and nothing more.

Obviously it was not a minnow or sea bass. :-)
If you were to use current known sea life as an example, one would conclude it had to be a whale. But it does not take into account that many species of animals of every kind have died off.., some will never be realized unless some lucky person discovers a fossil of some sort.

The bible says,
"But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights." Jonah- 1:17.

But that doesn't specify that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Whales aren't capable of swallowing humans right?? They're bulit to swallow krill and don't have the capacity to swallow a human. So was Jonah swallowed by a fish, yes. Was he swallowed by a whale, no.

Oh, you mean because of the whale's anatomy and diet, and how in nature a man couldn't possibly be swallowed by one? While the Bible doesn't literally say "whale", rather "a great fish", I don't conceive of any other big fish that could possibly hold a man. I wouldn't limit the reality of the Bible based on human understanding; I haven't seen any rivers of blood, plagues of frogs, or a country outraged at the death of all the firstborn males lately either, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen in Egypt during the Exodus.

All the brains in the world and still no intelligence!

Only a spiritual mind can interpret spiritual truths. You will never understand what you read until you are filled with the Spirit! All the intelligence in the world and still not an ounce of faith! Sad!

Oh, and you were there? Tell me more if you are such a good witness to the event. By the way, it never said it was a whale but a big fish. Technically, a whale is not a fish but a mammal. I take more stock of someone that was there that witnessed it than someone that does not know what they are talking about.

A teacher once said in the class that it was impossible for a whale to swallow anything as big as a man. A little girl disagreed and said that when she goes to heaven she'll ask him. The teacher said, what if Jonah went to hell.
"you can ask him then" the little girl replied.

no, he wasn't eaten but he was swallowed.

Jon 1:17 And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

I'm sure plenty of people over the course of history have been swallowed by whales. Maybe you should stick to things you actually know something about.

He wasn't swallowd by anything. After he was flung into the sea he hallucinated he was swallowed by a whale. That hallucination may have actually saved his life. But he actually held onto to a piece of wood or something until he reached land.
