they both have different ingredients
cakes rise cookies are flat
cakes are usually moist...cookies are semi hard..unless you burn them then very hard.lol

cakes are larger in size, use different ingredients than cookies, usually topped with icing, and use yeast to allow them to rise

cake is bulky and soft while cookies is bite size and a little bit crunchy!

Cakes are soft and bigger. Cookies are smaller, crispier/chewier (depending on how you like them), and usually don't have ice on the sides
