Yesterday, I woke up. I weighed 160. I ate cereal for breakfast. I ran around the yard a few times. I ate cereal for lunch. I walked 5-6 miles. I ate a small piece of watermelon for a snack. Did about 50 crunches and exercised for about 30 minutes. For dinner I ate vegetable soup. For a midnight snack I ate an apple. The next morning, I woke up and stepped on the scale. It said I weigh 157.5. I lost 2.5 pounds in one day. Am I losing weight to fast?

It depends. If you just started, you will lose a lot of weight in the first week or two (esp. if you are male). If you just changed your diet, the body has a tendency to lose a lot of water weight. (Unhealthy foods make you retain water.) You should level out again after this initial weight loss. After the first week or two, you should only be losing that much in a week. (2-3 lbs. per week max). Any more than that, and you are doing something wrong (starving yourself, working out too much with too little caloric intake, etc...) You don't want to do this because it is unhealthy for your heart and other systems. Not only that, you will gain the weight back when you stop over-doing it.

ok, you've managed to tick off every chunky monkey on here... I hate you.

But seriously, no, you're not losing weight to fast. your weight can fluctuate by as much as 5-6 lbs. each day. when you step on the scale tomorrow, it will normalize out.

There are a lot of things it can be. It might be water weight, in which case I would recommend upping your water intake and adding some electrolytes to ensure you don't pass out from dehydration. and yes, you can take a 2 lb dump...

The point is, you're ok. monitor your weight loss over a week. If you lose 8-10 lbs, I'd say there might be a problem. but the first few days, even weeks, see faster progress than the following ones. you are excersizing almost excessively, but it appears you're eating rather ok (unless you're anorexic and throwing it all back up again... then I'd say there's a real problem). You should be fine.

Good luck!

YES. That's as much as is healthy to lose in a week, boy.

I hope this isn't a joke. Cut back a little, dude. Walk 2 miles and eat more than just cereal. Don't worry about the cruches.

I'm serious. If you aren't any less than 5'8 you probably don't look bad.

I don't know, but I'm gonna try what you just did cause I need to lose some weight. How tall are you? Whatever your height is look at your ideal weight and don't go below it.

You're probably just losing water weight

You probably lost a lot of water weight, just drink more water and eat plenty of proteins and carbs in addition to fruits and veggies. But 2.5lbs is too much to loose in one day

negative, your body flucuates between 2-4 lbs daily, depending on many factors. medically your weight should be taken once a day in morning before meals and after your morning ritual. this is your actual weight, dont be surprzed if you put the lbs back on either, its your body maintaining itself.
