I work night shift, can my employer demand I show up for in-services in the middle of my sleep time, or do they have to provide them on my shift. If someone would just give me link so I can look it up would be great!!!
Thanks

I'm sure the laws are different in every State when it comes to employee rights. However, I'm fairly certain that your boss can make you show up for a meeting at any time, as long as they are paying you for it. They can't call a mandatory meeting unless you are being paid to be there. I work nights too and my boss pulls that same crap all the time. it sucks, but I just have to live with it.

It's sort of tough to provide appropriate links since you didn't include you location, or any Union affiliation info.
Generally speaking, your employer should provide any meetings, performance review, critical info, etc. to you during your normal work-hours. In many areas, they can offer you O.T. to come in during your off hours, but few places enforce it as mandatory attendance.

I know exactly how you feel. They put meetings in the middle of the day and think its convenient for everyone but they don't understand what we go through. And they also say its mandatory so we really don't have a choice

Like the other person said, anything in retail. Grocery store also. You won't be actually making the food, most likely just working the register.
