AS FAR AS RESEARCH LEADS YOU WHAT IS THE MOST DEADLY DISEASE?

It depends on how you define "deadly". If you use the definition "most likely to cause death once contracted" it would have to be rabies. Rabies is, as yet, uncurable once contracted and to date only one person (that I know of in the literature) has been described as surviving a full-blown rabies attack. Once a person is bitten, of course, post-exposure vaccination can prevent it from setting in.

In terms of transmissibility and having cause a large number of deaths historically, pretenders to that claim would include the bubonic plague and influenza. The biggest killer worldwide in this day and age is, as far as I know, cardiovascular disease.

You should check out the CDC website. www.cdc.gov
They will have stats for lots of diseases. I know that in the US, heart disease is the biggest killer of women. More than cancer and everything else combined, isnt that scary?
