The best way I've found is to hold your breath until they stop..Of course, if they continue for an inordinate amount of time, go see a doctor.Have also been told a startling noise like popping a balloon, may help a person stop hiccuping.

I always take a huge breath, then push with my diaphram to create air pressure for several seconds ('til it hurts usually). Then, let it out and take several fairly slow deep breaths. It often works on the first try, but if at first it does not, I try, try again.

A 1/4 cup of dry granulated sugar. It might be hard to eat and swallow in one big gulp but if you can swallow it in a couple of spoonfuls that will get rid of them in about 5 minutes.

well i heard on a movie that you could drink water upsidedown with a pencil in your mouth but i'm not sure that's possible. but i usually hold my breath or drink water or you could have someone scare you i've been told that works too.

Take in as much breath as possible - hold it, and dont exhale until youve swallowed 3 times. The more times you swallow, the more effective.
