I had my second child three weeks ago and I put it up for adoption. So breast feeding was out of the question. Now my breast have gone down and I'm still leaking, which I know is normal. Yet now when ever they start to leak there is this very intense, sharp pain in my breasts. I didn't experience this pain with my first child. Im just wondering if the shooting pain is normal. It only happens when the milk is fixing to leak out. Has anyone ever had this experience too?

Mine was severe pain as well, when it was fixin to leak. I would still check with the doctor to make sure, you never know! Thank you for choosing adoption and not abortion. God Bless You!

Sounds like you have a blocked milk duct that could be infected or Thrush. Thrush is a yeast infection and makes the let down really hurt. Go to your doctor because you will need it treated with cream or antibiotics. You may have picked it up at the hospital. I had the same thing. Congradulations on giving a family their miracle baby. You are a good person.

I would go and get that checked out i breastfed my son for two months of his life and never had such a problem. I would go to the Doctor and ask him /her why you are having this pain it could be something simple , have you tried a cold compress? try that or try pumping a lil each day just to relieve the pressure. In my home state you can get a pill to dry you up but not that late. You usually would tell the dr about your feeding options and you shouldve had that dry up pill after your baby was born you are likely not to get it now. Or it could be something more serious go get it checked out!!!!!

It's normal. Keep a bra on at all times . Don't touch them or even look at them . Don't let the shower water hit them. It's hormonal. When my son was in the NICU for a month , every time I had to leave him my milk would let down and my breasts would hurt horribly.
I admire you for being able to make such a tough decision to give your baby up and allow it to be in a loving home . Too many people keep babies they don't want or can not care for just because they gave birth to them . You did a loving thing for your child.

I have nursed 4 kids and I always got the sharp pains when my milk was drying up. The doctor should be able to give you a pill to make your milk dry up faster.

Check with a doctor or clinic nurse. It sounds like a blocked duct that could lead to mastitis
