Don't you think if you saw your own dad or mom making out with some one of the same sex as a kid that would mess you up mentally. Wouldn't it give your kid a unfair bias towards being gay, seeing how they observed their parent, their role model doing it?

my moms are lesbien.. I found out the hard way. When I was 8 years old, after my mom and dad got divorced, I was walking to my room, it went past my moms room.. and I saw her and a women flirting with eachother in a weird way.. (like touching and stuff) I just starred for a little bit, then they started kissing... I went to my room and started crying.. and it was really depressing.. I've never been the same. But I've just come to the conclusion that I have to deal with it. I can't change my mom's sexual preference.. and I actually think her girlfriend is really nice. At first I hated her because I thought she was the one that turned my mom into a lesbien and ruined my life.. but later on I found out that it was my mom's choice. She wanted to be a lesbien. I only want whats best for her because I know before this she had a very hard life. But this still doesn't make ME normal.. I get teased a lot at school.. and sometimes I really wish I had a "normal" life. I hope this helped you! and my moms dont make out in front of me... and I am not a lesbien. they've raised me to be straight!

Well I'm not a gay parent but my dad is...I'm straight and happily married and I saw my dad kiss his b/f. My brother and I were raised that being gay isn't wrong, people may no like it but you are your own person...Who has the means to tell you who you can and can not love...Certainly not someone who has been dead for many years...The world has changed and with that people will change, we evolve that is just what people do...Do you think back 200 years gays weren't around??? Wrong.. I feel seeing a parent kiss the same sex isn't as bad as walking into a couple having sex. same thing, also more kids get messed up in the head by straight parents than gay parents. So people think that if your raised by gays you will be gay, so that means if your raised by an abusive father that only drinks and beats women, that you will become that same..WRONG!!!we all make our own choices.

You are an idiot. No. It wouldn't "mess you up mentally." Then let me argue this. My aunt is a lesbian. Now her parents (my grandparents) are straight and have been married for 40 years. Did this give my aunt an unfair bias towards being straight? And I still can't figure out why your parents are making out in front of you? That's what's really strange to me. Grow up!!!!

In the first place, parents - whether gay or straight - should not be making out in front of their children.

Secondly, numerous studies have shown that children of gay parents are not "maladjusted," and actually are quite *normal.*

Unfair bias? Do you think it's better for a child to grow up in a family that espouses bigotry & intolerance?

Incidentally, I am a proud lesbian parent of a 21-year-old heterosexual male firefighter who claims that he learned how to treat women right from his mom *wink*

I can state for a fact, having a gay mom and being raised by her, that it did not mess me up in the slightest. In fact I seem to appreciate women more. I guess if my pops was gay it might be differant but I do not believe so. I beleive it all comes down to your own personal preferance.

Why would it mess a kid up more to see their parents make out if they were both of the same gender? That only makes sense if you are already homophobic.

99.9% of gay people have straight parents. Having gay parents doesn't make you gay.

Why wouldn't seeing a man and a woman give them the willies?

Don't they have an unfair bias towrds straights?

yeh, its possible for that to happen. but, if it does, it does.... whtas the problem with it...... i mean, if someone wants to be gay, they have the right too....... theres nothing that says its against the law or anything, so it dont matter. but, just because a kid sees their gay parents making out dont mean that they wil be gay...... and, once kids are in their teens, their parents arent really their role model anyways, and thast when you get involved with sex and crap, and everyone finds their way.

It really depends with the age of the kid? However for young kids this will go a long way in shaping their future - they would think there is nothing wrong in the practice?

Homos are not the same as Straights. It's in the GENES, not in the mind. You are BORN gay or straight.

Just because I watch my parents engage in gay activities doesn't mean I would.

In fact, it would make me want to be straight even MORE because I'd have something to prove to myself (that it's not genetic).
