When are people going to realize that in the original translation of the Bible a "DAY" isn't a "DAY" as we know it. Rather it is simply a period of time. God telling Adam the he will die in the Day he eats it probably meant, (I wasn't there to ask him), that he would die and go"From" this life and not live forever as God had intended. Which, unfortunately for Adam and the Atheists out there, did come true.

God's time can be hard for us to understand. God is past, present and future and to HIM, 40 years is like an hour. When he told Adam that, and then Adam ate, Adam DID die...a spiritual death. The physical death came later. He never would have had to experience that if he had been obedient. He died a spiritual death that day that meant he was separated from God. When Jesus (God) died, he took all sinners and believers deaths and when we accept Him, we die yet again. Die to sin, unbelief and eternal separation from God. Since HE was resurrected, we can be too. Otherwise, not believing in Him, we are dead present, past and future. Got it honey?

Ah, back in the day....
Apparently God was the one writing treaties with the American Indians.
Incidentally, Adam could NOT have been created as an immortal being. THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS says that all living things in the universe (including the Universe) will die due to increasing disorder and the dissipation of heat.
Since Creationists so often like to point to thermodynamics as "proof" of their cause, which is it? Does the Law apply equally or is Adam President Bush -- above the law?

At the moment Adam and Eve sinned they were cut off from any further spiritual fellowship with YHVH. That is the death in which He warned, and implemented immediately upon their disobedience, as promised. Death, in general, may be defined as the cessation of the awareness of the environment and interaction with it. It was not primarily a physical separation of body, which, of course, would come years later, nor was it a death of soul, as the couple now entered fully into that realm by having the ability to determine, apart from YHVH, what was good and evil. Nor was it complete loss of spirit, as the function of conscience was still present. Adam and Eve simply lost the ability and right to communicate, fellowship, and worship YHVH. The same loss was passed onto all their billions of physical heirs; thus we find ourselves in need of a restoration of that spirit fellowship which can only be found in the Messiah and through His death, burial and resurrection. That most people are quite content in their own god like abilities to discern good and evil and have little or no fear of their physical separation from their earthly bodies or desire fellowship and communion with YHVH is well documented and apparent. What remains to be seen by them is how that the arrogance of soulish self independence, the physical separation of spirit, soul and body, and the spiritual alienation from YHVH shall play out in eternity. Not too well, methinks. But what would YOU have Him do? Send the untold billions of rebellious, self willed, arrogant, and unrepentant souls to an eternal Ben and Jerry’s for ice cream and cake? How ‘bout giving them their own planet to ever live in peace and harmony….no, wait, that hasn’t worked out too well. Any ideas what an Eternal Just and Holy God can do with all these lost souls? That He has a plan, you can rest assured. Well, rest may not be an apt description, but a plan, nonetheless. And He has a plan for those who, in this age, do seek restoration of fellowship in the spirit with Him, and it does relate to a restored earth and an eternal ‘party’, though not at Ben’s place. Cake, anyone?

Adam did not die physically that day, but he did die spiritually. We see that because once they had eaten of the fruit they became ashamed of their nudity and attempted to cover it up with fig leaves, and when God came to spend time with them they hid. This is a guilty conscience, and this shows a change in their spiritual condition.
Also, it is assumed that man would have lived forever if they hadn't eaten of the fruit. Because Adam did die, we can know that he BEGAN the process of physical death on that day.

He said 'in dying you shall surly die',--you will die as you grow old, that was not the original intent when God created man. Man was to live forever. The tree of life was in the garden-God closed the garden after Adam and Eve sinned.

This answer has been given a few times before... not just for this question, but for a number of other questions.
God didn't actually mean "die" when he clearly said, "die."
God really meant "live" for nearly a century and have a fairly good life.
There are several places in the bible where god said one thing but actually meant the exact opposite. Kinda like when Jesus said that you had to HATE your family to be his disciple, but meant LOVE.
It isn't always easy to know when God is saying the exact opposite of what he actually means, however I figured one thing out for sure....
When god said gay people needed to die, he didn't mean live. That time was the only time for certain he said EXACTLY what he meant. Any other time, it was a mistranslation or he was playing a word riddle with whoever he was telling things to.

TO velvet who said its a spirtual sin? can you tell me where did you get that idea? its not in the bible? So you taking liberty and saying you think like GOD and know what GOD really means. I guess you are Lucifer who tought the same.
Well GOD did not lied, he was just kidding. Remember since there was no death before GOD could not even explain concept of death to Adam. Its like saying explain me (33jdsidsklsdkfjaero) wtf that is? It was eden and everything was there perfect so Adam would not know what "die" means so he naturally ignores.
And both of them had no idea what is bad and what is good so taken that fruit was nothing wrong. Remember the Knowledge came only after they eat not before. SO saying punish them for something that they never knew was done by design and not by concept.
It was the design and idea of GOD from start to perform evil for greater GOOD.
