Try to limit your bordness by staying active. Instead of sitting in front of the computer (on Yahoo Answers) and snacking, go for a walk, or something.

1 - If you're at home and are frequently snacking on junk food, stop buying it in the first place!!

2- If you're at work and making frequent visits to the snack machine, don't bring enough coins in your wallet to buy anything (this is assuming the machine doesn't accept notes!)

3- If you must eat something, make it a nutritious option like a banana, an apple, a few walnuts, figs, a rice cake and the like.

4- Consciously distract yourself away from eating when boredom sets in - turning to food to combat a boring moment is a habit, and habits can be broke, but they take willpower and LOTS of it! The craving for food will pass.

5- Find something physical to do when you're bored - squeeze a squash ball, do a Sudoku puzzle, get out that book you've been threatening to read for ages.

I find myself doing the same thing during the summer. When I am in regular school teaching, I don't have the chance to eat all the time, but during the summer, I find I eat more. This is what I do. I make a list of the things I need to do each day and how much time it is going to take me to accomplish that particular goal. I try to structure my time and activities an hour apart. I note the time that I plan to sit and eat and that's when I eat...only! I continue to complete the projects until the day is over. I try to fill up my time with lots of different things. Reading, swimming, talking on the phone, cleaning my room, writing a song, practicing the piano, cleaning out the closet, refrigerator, whatever - each day I find something to add so that I am only eating a certain number of times a day and a certain amount of food. Try it - it's work - but you can limit yourself to overeating.

find something to do. Get a life. And, most importent, learn that being bored is okay. It's not the end of the world. when you're bored is the time to get up and do something. Clean out a closet. Wash the dishes. Brush the dog. Go for a walk. Call a friend. Paint a picutre. Food is not the only thing there is to do.

Drink water and take up a hobby. If you find that you tend to eat without thinking about it, have a rubber band around your writ and if you notice yourself reaching for food. Snap it and you will learn to control your eating.
And stay away from the tv. If you wanna nibble in front of the tv, buy sunflower seeds with the shells on. You have to pick off the shell and it takes so long that you don't eat as much but iw may relieve some of the boredom. Good luck

Finding something to do would be the obvious answer. Maybe take up a musical instrument, sewing, card-making or something that you can constantly go back to.

Eating chewing gum makes your breath minty, and as you know you don't want to eat with that taste in your mouth. When you get the urge for food go and brush your teeth. Also drink lots of water, because hunger can often be mistaken for thirst.

The answer here is to start cross stitch or tapestry.
Both will keep mind and hands busy. Get a design that you really like with pre- sorted threads.
, You will see it take shape and your mind won't think of food. Time will go really fast and before you know it, you will have created something and be really proud of yourself. But you will also get hooked,so be warned.!! If you haven't done it before, start small so the end result is quicker. It does not need to cost a lot either. Have fun !!

I do too. Try to find somethong else. Anything. It's a matter of willpower for me.

Try taking a walk. Think of a place you like to go that's within reasonable walking distance and walk there. Alternatively take a drive, it's what I used to do, but with today's gas prices it's simply too much money even for just cruising around a little, so I stick to walking.
