Look at it as an opportunity to grow spiritually. One is just accept that there will always be ignorance and not to take it personally. Also look at it as an opportunity to educate others helping them cease to be ignorant. Deafness taught me that.

It is also an opportunity to learn not to take things personally and have self-esteem in being your True Self.

It is also an opportunity to practice forgiveness when people display ignorance. Some may not really realize that they are being ignorant, but life will throw them experiences to help them learn and grow.

It is also an opportunity to learn not to be concerned with the things you cannot control, but what you can control and how you express yourself to the world.

It is also an opportunity to learn what not to say towards others regarding their faith because you now know what it feels like when someone says insulting, disprectful and judgmental comments to you.

Ignore it. Just stand in your faith. If you know that what you believe is right for you then that is all that matters. By living a good life and being a good person you show them that your belief works. I've read many of your Q&A and have always found them to be good and to spread love and what you believe is right. Try to rememeber that the people that insult your religion probably have never even taken the time to talk to others that follow it or have ever even read a book about it. You are doing good and just take strength from that.

I trust you know the difference between actual insult and someone disagreeing with you, and that you're talking about bashing.

What people say is often a better commentary on who they are than of whomever or whatever they speak of.

They can only speak to what is in their hearts, not what is in yours.

I think that is the heart of "turning the other cheek." It isn't that you simply submit to insult, but that you realize in the face of it that it isn't really about you or even what you believe. You come face to face with the ugliness of another's heart, and you stand your ground without sinking to their level. It is an unflinching response.

That sort of reaction should cause them to reconsider - for their conscience to be quickened - or they will further show themselves for who they truly are.

The best way to deal with a bully is to very calmly (and often, very silently) stand your ground. No fear.

It all depends upon the nature of their insults and what you can discern about their intentions. If they are just "trolling" then don't rise to the bait. Ignore them and don't let it bother you, but pray for them.

If they seem to be criticizing your religion because they have legitimate concerns about it being a false religion and they are trying to be helpful by telling you why they think what they think then you can consider what they have to say and thank them for their concerns.

Take a long warm bath. Use some herbs. Put gummy worms between all of your toes, and put black olives on your fingers. Listen to Yo Yo Ma and Bobby Mcferrin. When your hands get all pruney, spackle the wrinkles smooth with a poultice of powdered sugar, nutmeg, and honey. Let an entire brick of neopolitan icecream melt on your tummy. Repeat.

I suppose you should follow the good teachings of your religion about how to deal with people in general. Most religions teach that we should act with love, peace, and kindness towards others, whatever the situation.

Ignorance speaks volumes...there is no reason to worry about an uneducated person...their inaccuracies will not keep a single faith down.

I appreciate their concern as to whether I follow a false religion, but I think that God would answer that in my prayers...if he loves me that much, then he'd guide me to where I need to be.

Ignore them, just as non-believers ignore the insults Christians give them.

Ignore! I think all of us at some point have been ridiculed for our religious beliefs! I find people insult what they don't understand!

Let them, Jesus said people will hate you for his name. I am not in this to worry about what someone else thinks or says. I can only live by faith, walk by faith, each step by faith with the hope of things unseen.

Call me anything you want. No skin off my nose.
