Bear in mind, both parties are being faithful and honest about their past relationships. And the woman is already taking contraceptive pills. Please include in your answer a time period. Thanks!

Please bear in mind that clinics say that disease and infections can lay dormant for 1-2 years or so? So do you wait that long?

The serious diseases are traceable after 3 months - go to your local GUM clinic (there'll be one at your local hospital at least) both get tested for the works (it's annoymous and very supportive). You get your results in two weeks and then assuming everything's fine go for it from there.

Bear in mind, both parties are SAYING they're being honest and faithful about their relationship! Stop using condoms when you feel that you've become invulnerable to STD's and pregnancy or just marry the girl, then wait another 6 months. There is no right answer for this question. It's up to you and your girlfriend to decide.

How do you want anybody to give you a time period - there is none! It's a very personal decision between you and your partner.
I'd say the only sure time to stop is when you have both gone together for one of them STD tests together and have the results showing you are both fine - no matter how faith-full and honest you both are -you just never know!
That's what my fiance and I did, it wasn't at an NHS centre, so we had to pay a small fee but we didn't have to wait around for long and the results were fast.
Another interesting thing is that we didn't have to give our names, we were each given a number to present when we came back for the results.

You should wait until the contraceptives have been going long enough that your doctor says it is safe. Also, you should both go get checked for STD's before you start. You can live with a disease for years and not even know, so its worth finding out before both of you have a problem.

I would say both parties definitly need to get tested just to be safe. Condoms or not there is still always a chance of getting pregnant. Though if u are having sex before marriage; what will be special about it when u guys finally get married. Me and my b/f use condoms and I think we should wait until our honeymoon to stop using them. That we it will be special and exciting to actually "feel" him for the first time once we are married.

Until you marry them of course, unless your one of those people who do not beleive in a marriage licence. There are no guarantees in life just because your faithfull does not mean the other party is or will stay that way. just be sensible, there is nothing wrong with a condom so keep using them till your married and ready to have kids, its not just the diseases you should worry about, and no on EVER said contraceptives were 100%!

It is completely up to you and your partner.

I guess the answer is when you really trust each other. Sorry, but some things can't be measured the same every time.

You could both have health checks - go to a GUM clinic and have HIV and other health checks. Then - give each other some form of commitment.

That should take about two weeks.

Go for it.

You should both get checked at the clinic for sexual diseases, whether they're transmitted or from birth.

Also contraceptives are never 100%, so unless you're trying for a baby then it's best to use a condom.

What does how long have to do with anything ? Since she is on the pill I assume you both started using condoms to protect against std/hiv. Why not both go get checked out to make sure all is ok and then stop using the condoms.
