well John Paul II and now Benedict XVI have tried to foster peace between the two faiths.

There was however a point in history where they really did duke it out. Islam was encroaching on Europe and causing death and forced conversion. The Church called Europe to push back the Muslim invaders and it was quite a bloody war.

what do you think is happening right now? read a news paper and you'll see the reports every day, x dead, y wounded. They just don't come right out and say it (except for Bushie, he did come out and say it a few times)
