Nothing wrong with that. God is a mere abstract thing to focus on to when nothing else works. You are in self-doubt and you are wondering if you are doing the right thing.
There may come a time you will focus on this abstract. To have such a focus to consume your life is senseless. To go to war over this is senseless. To preach my God is better than yours is senseless. To think and firmly believe that others have a convoluted thinking about God is senseless. Are you any of those?
Stay spiritual. Take the religion out. Everything will come clear.

Do you have a sense of purpose? Do you see meaning in your daily life? Do you have a direction? Do you have goals? Do you celebrate accomplishments? Do you take your responsibilities seriously? Do you love? Do you feel? If you do, it really isn't possibly to have a senseless life.
Now, I am a person who believes that everyone ought to have a sense of spirituality - that there is something much greater than you - in order to have perspective on life. Does that mean you have to believe in "my" concept of God? No. Does it mean that you have to believe what I believe? Nope.
But I think you should believe in something. Whenever I start to feel alone, I think of ancient civilizations and their love and honor of Mother Earth. It centers you and there just isn't anything wrong with feeling that it is a privilege to live on this lovely planet.
And all of this from a practicing Catholic!!! heehee!
Be true to yourself, my friend. Take a risk and feel. Take a risk and love. You can't possibility have a senseless life because you have already made an impact on my life.

Do you think that your life is senseless? I think on some level you do -- or else you wouldn't ask that question. Are you just hoping that some will answer "no" so that you can justify your lack of belief in God-- and thus, make yourself feel better?
I think that you are coming to your senses by feeling senseless... the Lord is working in your heart, and you want to believe in Him, but you are afraid.
Trust in Him. It is worth it :)

Contrary to popular belief, atheists are not AGAINST god. We are simply FOR the truth. The God that most people claim to know and worship, is false. This is abundantly clear to anyone who escapes the brainwashing of organized religion.
With that in mind, a rational person cannot be expected to simply turn off his brain, and accept what he's told, when he knows it's not true. Regardless of what people of faith's opinion may be of the value of your life, the fact is... you're the one that's right.
This makes you a minority, however. And you cannot hope to find guidance or wisdom from the majority. This can be a bit lonely at times, but at the same time, take comfort in the fact that you are a spiritual adventurer. And the wisdom that you will find on your own will eventually make you the envy of all the rest.

Not at all! Most belief in god on this planet is out of insecurity, mundane life, poverty, misery and above all FEAR. The real concern is Fear. People turn to God with a 'notion' that God will take care of the fear or because they were conditioned that way from birth.
So blindly believing in God out of fear is a life which is senseless!

Yesterday as I was driving to work, I though about all of the nonbelievers and atheists I encounter at this website. I decided to walk (rather DRIVE) a mile in your shoes (actually 2.8 miles to be exact). I would have had to close my eyes to not see the glorious trees that were created not by science alone, but by God. I would have had to plug my ears not to hear the wind whistle around me and the birds singing not to hear and feel God. I tried really hard, really I did. I could NOT imagine a world without God making himself constantly known to me. Your life will gain meaning and truth from this moment on. If you didn't know or believe before, you, me and this world were created by an All Mighty God, too big for our understanding, but just the right size for us to believe and trust. God inspired my heart to share these thoughts with you. Do you believe now?

Hell, no. And if it is, it isn't because you don't believe in god. If you have decided you don't believe in god, and you feel like the meaning in your life has disappeared, you need to explore your non-faith. Read books and look at websites about agnostic/atheism (I would suggest starting with www.godisimaginary.com and The End of Faith by Sam Harris, both pretty damn fabulous). There are others out there, find them and be friendly. Join some atheist forums/chat rooms. Trust me, I felt the same way for years, sort of in limbo and empty, but as soon as I finally explored why I didn't believe in god and read why others didn't as well, I felt myself being validated. It's difficult for me to talk about where I live in the bible belt, so the internet has been incredibly helpful. Don't let others' intolerance of your beliefs get you down. Remember, the women's movement and anti-slavery movement both began on the fringes of society. The more open we are to expressing out beliefs (rather, non-beliefs), the more accepting others will be.

I highly doubt that. Why would believing in God make someone's life more fulfilling?
I doubt the followers of Charles Manson felt more fulfilled than those who didn't follow him.
Live your life with good intentions and ways and give your life your own meaning. God doesn't give your life meaning, you do.
And if you don't believe in God, then you don't believe he made the trees. I see trees, I see trees that someone planted with a SEED. I think it's pretty, but I doubt some higher being put it there. I can go to Walmart and buy seeds, I'm not God.

Who replace into Jesus a maximum suitable chum to? The untouchable, the ill, the maimed, and the very tainted. He hung with prostitutes and tax creditors. seen the worst of the worst at that factor. Then there have been the Pharisees. Who have been actual vermin. i will carry my very own with "beautiful" people yet I even have constantly stood up for those much less fortunate. Even to the degree that I lost acquaintances or made so referred to as acquaintances think of i replace into wacko. i won't be able to and don't tolerate ugliness in any way shape or variety. each and every person shines of their very own way. it could no longer degree as much as the worldwide's wide-spread of elegance or although. the worldwide sucks and so which you could does all it truly is measurements. What concerns is interior the middle. Many advantages.

Ask God. It's He Who should say whether it's senseless or not...although He wouldn't have brought you here if it was senseless, and you wouldn't have asked this question if somewhere deep in you heart you didn't believe in God.
Listen to your heart.
