I think it's hard for us to be humble and to come with broken and quiet spirit. We like boasting around, showing off even in front of God and it's really painful to face the dirt and mess we have inside.
Moreover, we think we can cope with our own strength, so we don't bother to look for His guidance and delivery...and blessed are those who realize they are weak and helpless - for that where strength comes from - sweet surrender.

You answered your question yourself - intelligent adults don't want to live like children. Seriously, I had an imaginary friend when I was four, I have a really hard time believing I'm supposed to have one now, because I'm a grown-up! Grown ups do things like think with their brains! (which is where thought originates, by the way, not from the heart...) And really smart ones who believe in real things like science and reality just have a hard time reconciling the fact that other people believe there is an imaginary guy looking down on us, who once upon a time put a man inside a whale, asked a guy to kill his own son, made a talking snake cause the downfall of man...it's just crazy talk!

Because man is born free, but everywhere in chains. It is the education and upbringing that robbed man of his purity, innocence and divine values. These faiths as you have quoted are the primary reason of man's downfall. To understand the Truth why we should start with a story of 'God coming to earth as Jesus'. We have to be introspective and try to search for God in the temple, that is the human body, the most wonderful creation of God.

because they have a child's heart towards another religion. they have faith in another religion. i'm sure that you could convince a lot of people with evidence or something. I mean St. Thomas believed Jesus rose from the dead even though he said he wouldn't believe till he had evidence, then he found some evidence and now he is a saint

Probably because unless you 100% beleive that the bible is fact and not fiction as written by man how can you have faith?
In the society we live in where everything is fake(boobs, online friends, special effects, santa clause)it has desensitized this generation in the ability to beleive in something that is not esily seen, touched or felt.

Because we aren't God, and people only want to put Jesus on their level, it is college and hollywood comfortable. People are too scared to actually accept Jesus as God, and God as God for that matter. But you and I both know they'll know soon enough. Thanks,
Matt

"Unless you are converted and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3)
This is how Jesus characterized conversion. Like the Beatitudes, it pictures faith as simple, helpless, trusting dependence of those who have no resources of their own. Like children, they have no achievements and no accomplishments to offer or commend themselves with. The reason that many people remain unconverted is because of a hard heart.
The unspiritual man walks "in the futility of his mind, being darkened in his understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in him, because of the HARDNESS OF HIS HEART; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practices of every kind of impurity with greediness." (Ephesians 4:17-19)
In these verses, Paul gives 4 characteristics of the ungodly lifestyles which believers are to forsake:
"the futility of their mind" : First, unbelievers are intellectually unproductive. As far as spiritual and moral issues are concerned, their rational processes are distorted and inadequate, iinevitably failing to produce godly understanding or moral living. Their life is empty, vain, and without meaning (Ro1:21-28; 1Co2:14; Col 2:18)
"excluded from the life of God" : Second, unbelievers are spiritually separated from God, thus ignorant of God's truth (1Co2:14), and their willing spiritual darkness and moral blindness is the result. They are blind, or "hard" like a rock.
"having become callous" : Third, unbelievers are morally insensitive. As they continue to sin and turn away from God, they become still more apathetic about moral and spiritual things (Ro 1:32).
"sensuality...impurity" : Fourth, unbelievers are behaviorally depraved (Ro 1:28). As they willingly keep succumbing to sensuality, they increasingly lose moral restraint, especially in the area of sexual sins. Impurity is inseparable from greediness, which is a form of idolatry. That some souls may not reach the extremes of these verses is due only to God's uncommon grace and the restraining influence of the Holy Spirit.
Other verses:
"Thier heart is far away from me." (Matthew 15:8)
"The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
"The hearts of the sons of men are full of evil and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterward they go to the dead." (Ecclesiastes 9:3)
"Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me...Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me...The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, Od God, you will not despise." (Psalms 51:5,10,17)
