Let's see ...
The Jews doesn't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, with that also they don't recognize Muhammad as a prophet, The Jews only believes in the Torah (Old Testament, If I'm not mistaken) but didn't even bother to look at the bible and the quran.
Christians recognize Jesus as the Messiah, but doesn't recognize Muhammad as a prophet Christians believe in the Old Testament(Torah)and new Testament(Bible) but doesn't think that the quran is God's word. The Moslems recognize Jesus as the Messiah (Christ, Al-Masih) and also recognize the Torah and The Bible(Injil, in Islamic words) as God's word. Interesting, huh? What do you guys think?

The asker is right when referring Muslims recognizing Jesus (PBUH) as the messiah because each religion has their own view of the meaning of messiah @ al-masih. Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messiah . Islam recognizes Jesus (PBUH) as a prophet, not as the son of Lord God. Hence, Islam still recognizes Jesus (PBUH) and is not considered as Christians. Yes, the Tanakh (Old Testament) is being added by Christians (New Testament) and Muslims believe in the Torah (in Islam, it is called the Taurat) but after Quran was being given to Muhammad (PBUH) all of the rules in the earlier scriptures are abolished and human beings are to adhere to the Holy Quran because it is the most complete scripture among all four scriptures (Zabur, Taurat, Injil and Quran). Yes, I think it's kinda interesting to see the three Abrahamaic religions has the same roots but are fighting among themselves (You don't see Buddhists and Hindus fighting among themselves even though they came from the same root, right?) Because of the "Holy Wars", people are starting to "convert" to Atheistism.

Its a matter of chronology.
Einstien's work recognizes Newton's law of gravity; Newton does not recognize relativity... Same diff.

Muslims recognize Moses and Jesus but still insist that Mohammad was the last prophet and what Quran says is the most ultimate truth. They went as far as killing anyone who claimed to be a prophet after Mohammed.

Most Islamic countries do not recognize the history before Mohammed and refuse to recognize any theologic ideas after Mohammed.
I have heard that Pakistani schools don't even recognize the history of India -a country Pakistan was a part of - though I have just heard that, I do not have proof of it.

I'm no expert on Islam, but I think if they recognized Jesus as the Messiah, they would be Christians, not Muslims. I believe they recognize Jesus as a prophet, but not as "The Messiah."

Very interesting. However, you do have one mistake. The Muslims do NOT recognize Jesus as the Messiah. They view him as another prophet (like Muhammed), much the same way Jews do. It would be a whole lot easier if we all became Bhuddists.

How come you say that Muslims beliueve that Jesus is the Messiah, while there is a prophet proceeding him?

In Torah, Messiah is the LAST prophet.

Pretty close, exept that translation of the word Masih doesn't mean messiah like Christians see it, its more of a great prophet title.

Your terminology is a bit off.

The Jewish holy book is the Bible, a.k.a. the Tanakh.

The Christians added New Testament to the Bible.

I think they all need to think about it. Would God really start a religion for only his chosen people, (why would he play favorites?). Give them laws and their scriptures and then come back later, (or send a prophet), and give them new laws and scriptures and tell them to go by the new scriptures now. and then come back (or send a prophet), and give them a 3rd set of scriptures and tell them to now go by them and each time to forget what you previously knew.

The Christens believe he sent the 2nd set of scriptures, and told them to change they way they worship but they don;'t believe he sent the 3rd set. Why, cause he can only do it 2 times.

Come on, get real people. god doesn't keep changing his mind and sending new scriptures and new ways to worship. I think they are all wrong.
