Absolutely not! I remember going with a Jewish friend to synagogue because I wanted to learn about her religion. Everyone who was seated near me was so nice and kept leaning over to whisper what was going on, so I wouldn't be so lost. At the end they all invited me back again.

No!
However, I wouldn't attend an Orthodox service without bringing a Jewish friend with me.
Conservative or Reformed; no problem.

No, I have attended several times.
However, seats may be in short supply during the high holy days and unless you are a member of that particular synagogue, you might not get a seat.

Almost all religious buildings are open to the public in America.
It would also help if you went with a friend who is Jewish.
Quietly observe their customs and practices and you shouldn't have a problem. As a visitor you might ask where you should sit.

No, but it does help you understand why they are asking you to leave.
