You have to build credit history first. The first card is the hardest to get. Get a secured card first, then once you build credit history then you can have a regular credit card. Secured card is you give the bank the amount of money that you want for your credit limit and the give you a card for that amount.. For instance if you give them $200.00 then they will give you a line of credit for $200. If you give $300' then the give you a $300. credit line. Than once you do that for about 6 months or more then try for a card. Good Luck to you. Even if you don't want it a secured card is the only way you will get the regular one i don't think you have any other options.

All banks require some form of proof that you can pay them back. If you do not have a long standing savings account, if you have defaulted on a loan in the past, if you do not have a mortgage you may look like a bad risk.
You get the offers because you are on a mailing list somewhere. Until you apply they do not know you.
Trust me you are much better off without one. You may not be able to buy what you want right now but wait until you have a card to pay down. It makes it far worse.

You need to build up your credit. Go to your bank start a checking account (if you do not have one) and get a debit card. They are somewhat like credit cards.
Another idea is to get someone who trusts you to co-sign for you. Try a parent or a sibling who already has credit.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck

Try applying for a secure credit card. This is one that is backed by a savings account.

The more you apply and get denied, the further down your redit score goes. Just go for the secured and use it a LITTLE for 6 months and then re-apply for other things.

Did you know that everytime you apply, it goes on your report? When CC companies see all this activity, they get nervous.
