I mean....Christianity is about God, right? Why do i HAVE to believe EVERYTHING in the bible ?

well, it seems like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't to christians, man...

I find it hard to believe that the bible was MEANT by GOD to be taken literally...it just doesn't make sense...

We were given intelligence by God, right?

And with that intelligence we've discovered evolution, and space, and technology and a lot of things attributed to God, we've explained, and the Christians keep changing their views along with science to keep up to date....

I thought it was about God...and not the church.

Do as thy Wilt shall be the whole of the law.

If there is something to learn from Jesus then it is not to worship anything in the universe but your inner god.

The kingdom of god is within you. Know Thyself.

Most religions are about God some even have several.
You should learn the difference.
There is God/Divine energy.
There is Holy scriptures.
There is Religion.
They are different things.
The Divine Energy is unquestionable.
It's the energy that makes the Universe go round.
The Sacred writings are a way to pass on knowledge of all sorts.
And most Religion is just another political Matrix to keep us under control and help us to stop thinking and questioning.
Always keep questioning.
What am i being told and why am i being told, what's behind or underneath the story.
Try reading a few Sacred writings knowing they where written by people trying to pass something on to you.
To me it's all little crumbs of the same pie and i can't stop searching and questioning until i have the entire pie.

Well, it's cool that you want to worship God, but how do you do that? The word "worship " comes from old "Worthship", you say that He is worthy. Now comes the question: Worthy of what? Why is He worthy and Who is God?
You can't worship someone you don't know, can you? In order to know Him you should know the history He wrote, lives of those who knew Him and walked with Him, and all this you can find in His Holy Word - Bible.
Then, talk to Him if there are things you doubt and questions you can't answer - He is alive and He answers, none can explain you better than Him - He's the author of Bible and your Creator. I'm glad that you ask these questions. It means that you seek God.

You don't. Church and that crap don't weigh at all into whether or not you go to heaven. You worship God the way you want and don't worry about church and 'proper faith' because organized religion is a shame and a money grab. Really what does the church need with all that money and all those things made with gold and jewels? Worship the way you want and pat yourself on the back for doing it.

You don't. I believe that spirituality is a personal relationship with a higher being which in most cases, to most people, it is with God. Man has simply interpreted his word and has given us tools in which to live. But I believe that no one person can interpret it wholly, the way he intended so we have to do the best with what processing skills we have.

I believe that the more you grow emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually, the better equipped you, as an individual, are to interpret God's word. Religion is a tool, in my opinion. I have learned that through everything I have seen in the world from radical religious leaders to the Arch Diocese in Los Angeles who wants to protect priests who have molested children that no one man is infallible, therefore if I live to the best of my ability and act with the highest of integrity and core values, that I am doing myself and the world a service rather than a diservice.

Because we are separated from the most High and Holy God because of our transgressions. The bible is God's inspired Word which reveals who He is. Without it there is no way for us to have a relationship with Him because we wouldn't know Him.
The bible reveals what God wants from us in the form of worship, lifestyle, and obedience.

you can worship god any way you want, but if you want to go to heaven you must accept jesus into your heart.
it's not that you HAVE to believe everything the bible says, you believe it because you love god and have faith in his word. if you cherrypick from this book and the next, you have no real foundation other that what you "feel" is right, and your perception will change. the bible will never change, but by studing it you will learn and grow.

You don't i cant find in the bible where it says you must attend church or believe anything you don't wish to , i think all you have to do is be a good kind person and try to help your fellow humans and the rest will take care of its self.

Well because if you don't believe the Bible, then you are really just making up your own version of God that suits you best, and it is pretty much making you a worshipper of your own comfort zone. Experience Jesus, not religion, study Jesus, have faith, be baptized into him, and well, understand what Grace is. Thanks,
Matt

Who says you have to follow an organized religion. The way I figure, as long as you believe in your own way, God doesn't mind where you are. You don't have to believe everything in the Bible. It is all in your interpretation.

You don't. I know a lot of Christians that believe in god but not in the organized christian church. Just follow your heart.
