Excuses, for the word fuel used mistakenly. English is not my sovereign media of explaining myself to others but still usable.

I was trying to understand if in US driving a GM EV-1 per mile is cheaper than driving an average gasoline-fuel-petroleum (not electricity) using car per mile or not.

Thanks anyway.

It's probably never been checked whether the energy (produced by coal or oil burning power plants) to charge the batteries is more efficient than an internal combustion engine. It is moot as the cars have all been crushed by GM. GM figured that replacement batteries would be too expensive for the cars.
Also, a documentary is coming out about the EV-1.

It was more fuel efficient as it didn't run on fuel. It was an electric car. Due to its limited range, odd ball styling, lack of reinvestment in the design by GM, and the small distribution network for the car, it became a money loser for GM . Although GM and other manufacturers continue to work on electric and fuel cell vehicles, hybrids are currently the simplest solution for reducing fuel consumption.
