You don't get groin pain from falling off a bike. And groin pain could be serious, so have him examined by a doctor. Riding a bike over rough terrain for long periods can cause pain in the crotch, which is not the same as the groin. He would need a wider seat for the bike.
If he bruised a testicle, a hernia or if he has a rare case of testicular cancer or other problem, he should have it checked out.

Has he been to the doctors and been checked for a hernia? I had similar problems in my early teens, only to find out later it was a hernia. When I had my surgery in '82, I was in the hospital for a week and had eleven staples. Nowadays it's orthoscopic (like three small incisions) and often done as an out-patient.
If it is a hernia, you want to make sure to get it fixed ASAP because if it decides to close on its own, it can pinch a blood vessel or one of the intestines and then you're in for emergency surgery at the hospital.
Better to be safe than sorry. Hernias are not always obvious to the eyes.

I have an 8 year old son and I would take him to a doctor, just to ease mymind. If the doctor determines that it is just a pulled muscle, then he might listen to the doctor's advice about stretching exercises that will prevent injury (my son sure would not take my advice).
If he is having testicular pain and not groin muscle pain, there may be other causes that require medical intervention, such as a hernia.

Boys at this age are normally rough and a real pain but he's your bundle of joy!
Better get him checked by the doc about his groin pain though.

that's not good. something is torn. you need to take him to a doctor before his situation worsens any more than it already has. yes boys play rough but, their injurys match their level of roughness. i used to jump off of the rooftops (literally) luckily nothing was ever broken. it doesn't mean something couldn't have. always be safe or you (more likely he) could be sorry.

Your son is lucky to have someone so caring, that he can feel comfortable enough to confide in. It is your duty to seek professional medical advice in matters such as this, for the health and well being of your treasured one!!!
Good luck, and may the peace of the lord be with you both!!

Well if hes over wieght, then he could be straining it. But maybe he needs to stretch out more before playing. Also, true story, my bro's testies twisted and he had to get his scrotum cut open and get it all fixed up, so take him to a doctor

He may have a slight or small rupture and it only acts up from time to time. I would have him checked by a doctor, just to be safe. It may not need surgery, but why guess?

it is probably perfectly normal. he could have strained a groin muscle. very uncomfortabel. But at his age, when you cant really be sure what caused it, its probably best to have it checked out.
