Keep it in the husk (make sure you take off the stringy stuff on the top if it is on there). Soak in water for minimum of 20 minutes. Throw on the grill, turning before the husk gets black (burned).
What you are doing is steaming the corn in the husk when the water evaporates. You can tell it is done when it changes to a darker yellow that is was.

I get a large container and add a mixture of water, milk & seasonings. I pull some of the husk back from the corn but do not tear it off. Then I soak the corn for at least 2 hours more if I have time. Then fire up the gril and place corn in husk on grill for at least5-10 minutes turning often. It's ok if the outside of corn husk is a little "burned"

I have always spread butter on the cobs first, then wrap them separately in aluminum foil. To me, corn on the cob tastes better this way. I don't add salt because my family prefers to put their own salt on the cob and usually more butter.
It doesn't take very long to cook them on the grill. Cooking time varies on the type of grill you use, charcoal or gas. I mostly use a charcoal grill and watch them as they cook.
Corn on the cob is even better on a smoker.

Here's a great grill recipe and the corn comes with it's own handle!
Don't remove the husk. Pull it back to form a handle and tie with kitchen string to secure. Remove all of the silk, wash, and then generously brush with butter/margarine. I add parmesan and minced garlic to my butter beforehand. Position on the grill so the husks are away from the fire. Turn as needed (when the kernels get a bit browned) and continuously brush with remaining butter. Shouldn't take any longer than 10-12 mins. S&P to taste. Delicious!!!!

To cook corn on the cob on the grill, place corn in husk in sink full of water let soak as long as possible the longer the better, then when u r ready to cook it dont let water drain from corn. will dry it out if u do. put corn on top rack and keep turning it as it cooks,, if the corn is fresh and sweet it doesnt have to cook long its up to the cook how they want to eat it...u can eat fresh corn raw....enjoy

I wrap them individually in aluminum foil, as I usually buy the corn without the husk (less work). Grill them for 25-30" over med. to med. high heat. I usually don't butter them until after they're done. Corn cooked this way is SO GOOD, so much better than boiling it!

trouble-free adequate ...... First you're able to desire to open the husk without removing it .... next you will might desire to strip out all the silk (those pesky hairlike strands) .... % up the husk and grill till the corn is cooked via ..... some human beings right here in the Southwest additionally soak the the full situation in one day .... others will (Myself secure) will grill the corn without the husk .... the type you do it is an argument of decision

Don't take off the shuck.....open it up a bit and put butter down into it. Lay it on the grill....the hairy stuff inside will burn off, the butter will melt....you peel off the shuck and you have a handle to hold your corn on the cob on. Is that not cool or what?

start a fire in the grill, when it's hot enough, the coals all white, put the corn on the grill, shut the lid. Unshucked if possible or wrap in aluminum foil. Just don't let it burn. Unshucked don't let the shucks burn to much, foil open and check. Roasting ears, making me hungry.

Soak in the shuck in water a few minutes,, shake off then put on top grill rack when you put the meat on and close the grill lid.
I prefer 3 minutes in the microwave in the shuck, per ear,, the silks roll right off when you shuck it and the flavor is great!
