i am making a mixed cd to give to my mom...long story short: i'm 23, and i moved away from my mom about 6 months ago. i don't think she's taking it very well, and is picking on me for every little thing i do or say until she's decided she pretty much doesn't want me in her life anymore. I know it sounds weird, but trust me, you don't know my family. I already have "What I Was Trying To Do" by Rascal Flatts, "Don't Forget To Remember Me" by Carrie Underwood, and "Back to You" by John Mayer. The songs don't have to be any one genre, so anything you could give me would be helpful. It needs to be something about:
-not giving up on someone
-waiting for them to come around
-regretting things not said
-fighting for someone
-losing someone but still loving them
-etc, etc, etc...

Thank you so much!

Check out "I've Been Loving You for A Long Time" by Otis Redding. There are two Annie Lennox songs, "Why?" and "Everytime We Say Goodbye" (from the Red, Hot, and Blue album). "Nothing Compares to You" from either Prince or Sinead O'Connor. Mahalia Jackson's "His Eye is on the Sparrow". "Train Song" by Tom Waits. "Always on My Mind" by Willie Nelson. "In My Life" by the Beatles. "I'll Stand By You" by Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders. "Somewhere Out There" by Linda Rondstat and James Ingrim. "Somewhere" from West Side Story. (There's a place for us,/ A time and place for us. /Hold my hand and we're halfway there. /Hold my hand and I'll take you there). "Only Time Will Tell" by Etta James. "Change Your Mind" by Neil Young. "If You Want My Love You Got It" by Cheap Trick. On the Fleetwood Mac Album "Rumors" there are two songs, "Don't Stop" and "Songbird" that is nice. "Right Here Waiting for You" Richard Marx. "Everytime You Go Away" Howard Johnson. "Dont Give Up On Me Baby" by the Indiqo Girls. "Paper Moon" by Nat King Cole. "Always" by Frank Sinatra.

Hope this helps.

Here are afew of my favorites. Maybe you may find one or two of them you like and would like to put on your mothers CD. Hope this helps you out some!

1. In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride
2. God Gave Me You - Bryan White
3. How Am I Suppose To Live Without You - Micheal Bolton
4. What Hurts The Most - Rascal Flatts
5. Please, Remember Me _ Tim McGraw

Good Luck on making your mom's Cd and hope it helps bring the two of you close again.

It's hard on moms when they have to let their children leave the nest. Your mom is hurting. The last 23 years of her life were dedicated to you. That is a very long time, therefore it's a huge void in her daily life.

Rather than focus entirely on your needs when picking out songs, put some in there to remind her how much you love her and how much she means to you.

Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
It's a good start, and she's going to love you for what you're doing!
