Can't people learn? Are they hoping for a magic wand? That somehow,*their* training won't problem won't involve commitment & hard work? That *their* dog is different?
****Get over it.****
ALL breeds are dogs.

ALL dogs-pups & adults-need to be taught to be "civilized"-in every aspect. YOU have to do it...over & over again, every day for as long as it takes. Constantly,consistently....

ALL breeds are dogs...
ALL breeds shed,bite,bark,drool,eliminate,dig...
ALL dogs come in season on the same average age & for the same length of time.
ALL gestation time is 9 wks.
ALL dogs need to be fed,watered,excercised,trained,cleaned-up-after,groomed,vetted...
ALL hyphenated & dashed & "poo" & "oodles" are MUTTS/CROSSES/MIXES/MONGRELS. Mutts are NOT healthier.
ALL AKC recognised breeds have a written standard. GO LOOK! Instead of asking the equally ignorant.

Everything you've said is 100% correct. I love the people who have done so little planning that they need to ask for help in NAMING their dog! Jeez, gimme a BREAK! Or the ones that say, "I want to train my dog, but I don't want to waste any money on books or classes..." We few just do what we can to help those who don't seem COMPLETELY useless!

I am a dog trainer. I work with behavorial problems in large assertive breeds.
I hear these same questions in my daily work. Over and over adn I see people doing the same thigns over and over.
If people would take the time to look at the AKC web site and find out something about the dog they buy other tahn it is "beautiful" like how active how large how hard to train anything it would sovle half of the problems.
People have no clue what a their dog was breed for or to do.
They wonder why is the dog so active well it was bred to pull a sled all doy every day and sleep outside in the snow. Makes you wonder why it hates being left alone in the house for 12 hours doing nothing.
People are lazy and do not take responsibility for most of their actions. That seems to be the going trend in society today.
I try my best to pick up the pieces and give the dogs I work with a better chance and if not with the people who own them now they can come into our rescue program for a better chance.
I answer here becasue I have some free time and IF I educate only one person to do a better job with their pet I have done a great thing. It has made the life of one animal better.

The hardest thing about my job is working with the people not the dogs.

LOL! The magic wand is my saying!

I was just asked (yet again) by someone how to stop their dog from chasing people down the street when they let him out to potty. I told them to use a leash. She looked at me like I was insane and I could tell she was thinking about how much work that would be. Some people are very lazy and only want an easy answer.

There are a *few* people on here who seem to be giving very good advice. I have only been on here a week and see some of the same questions over and over. But if I can help someone else with their dog problem it is a way for me to give back to dogs, mine have enriched my life so much.

But.....I am still chuckling!

WOW a bug sure crawled up your a$$. look some ppl come in here wanting to ask THEIR question...because quit frankly....other ppls dogs aren't their dogs, and as such they don't give a rats a$$ what the advice was for other ppls dogs/cats/birds/etc.
some ppl don't go through the TONS of questions that get asked every 2 seconds...so they aren't aware that someone might have asked it.
and there are also a lot of young teens on here, asking naive questions about pet care.
what is your problem about educating them? and according to your own question.... aren't you an "equally ignorant" person for re-stating many of the common questions that are posted?
right i thought so.

Not everyone is on Answers at the same time. Asking a question at various times will breed various answers, depending upon who is answering at the time. If you dislike the site as much as you seem to, then why are you here?

The problem is that the people do not read previous posts. They just come in and ask their questions.
Maybe Yahoo Answers should have a file section where people could read up on certain catagories.

I have just asked a question for the first time today and received a few GREAT answers. It's quite time consuming looking through day/wk/mth old questions and/or replys to find what thay are looking for.

I hadn't noticed all the dog questions, but I've seen hundreds of questions (in the health section) about yeast infections. And in the religion section, someone wanting proof there is a God. All I know is it's getting harder to find questions that you even want to bother answering.

You forgot to tell all the idiots that their dogs DIE from parvo b/c they are too dumb and cheap to get their dogs vaccinated from a vet. And that there is NO "magic" cure for parvo!!
