Never a stupid question...smoothies made correctly (fruits, yogurt, low fat milk) etc, are absolutely fine. Whey powder Isolates added would provide protein that you would need as well.
I wouldn't recommend however, that you remain on a liquid diet for very long (unless this is a medical requirement and you are under a physicians care).
Hope this assists somewhat, Good luck
May I add, that checking with your physician rather than here, might be the better way to go to ensure you aren't doing more harm than good. Also, I don't know if you are lactose intolerant...so check with your Med pro first.

Not a stupid question at all. There are basically 2 types of liquid diets, clear and full. Clear liquids include tea without milk, cranberry or apple juice but not orange or prune, water, jello and broth. As you can see this is not very nourishing and is usually only used prior to surgery and just after.
Full liquids include milk and other dairy products, egg nog, strained stew, raw vegetable and fruit juice, smoothies, beer, and so on. It is far more nourishing but it is very low in fiber. The only other concern you might have, if you're a diabetic, is overall sugar intake.
Some people have to have liquid feedings administered with a pump through the nose into the stomach, and these are full liquids, but you'd want to avoid this if you could.

yes, I have a home based biz that has a great weight loss product, and part of it is a vanallia smoothie, go to: www.m2cglobal.com/tonym --- for all of the facts. You don't have to be on a liquid diet to lose w/this product. You can lose fr 9 to 19 lbs the 1st wk
Its really called an ice cream drink which is only 1 part of the stack weight loss system, there are 3 more products in the stack weight loss, or you can purchase the ice cream drink only.
If you decide to sign on there are no fees, and they have a great pay plan.
Be sure and take a look at the web site,
Thanks and good luck!

It depends on what the diet is for. If it is a medically required diet, then no, you should not have a smoothie. If you are trying to lose weight, then yes, you should definitely have a smoothie. They are full of calcium and vitamins and antioxidents that your body needs.

depends on why you are on a liquid diet, if to loose weight then sugar free smootie is ok, if you want to get rid of the bad chemicals in you then probably not.

it depends. are you trying to lose weight? in that case, the answer is no, unless its a smoothie made entirely of fruit. if its a doctor-ordered diet, then yes.
