WOW!! Good for you! You are going to be so much more healthy and buff! This is just a side stitch. It is extremely common and very normal. Try to control your breathing from start to finish. I had them especially as a young track athlete but less now that my mind is more on preventing exhaustion and conserving energy for endurance through thoughtful breathing. I hope you keep up the work. Your body is going to be banging! (That's good... ;-D)

Called a side stitch.... Usually results from breathing shallowly - as we do when we are running because we do the huffing....
The best way to get rid of this is to breathe as deep as you can and then breathe a little more - then blow out as much as you can and a little more - do this several times and that side stitch will be gone \--- doesnt happen when youre walking because youre not doing the huffing and puffing as when you run.... Try it out

Improper oxygen level. Your not breathing correctly or you are breathiing too fast and too shallowly. Take slow deep breaths in through your nose and always exhale slowly out of your mouth. This should fix the problem and get maximum oxygen distribution throughout your body.

as a preventative step to avoid this in the future, make sure you do abdomenal exercises immediately following your treadmill work. this will strengthen your core in a way that will prevent this from occurring in the future. do this after each treadmill routine and you will see results.

This happens to me all the time, too. I suggest drinking more water before and during your workout. It seems to help me, at least. And, don't forget to really focus on your breathing while you're working out. It's easy to hold your breath and not even realize you're doing it!

You might want to get that looked at. Although, it could be gas, as ridiculous as that sounds, or it could be a cramp of some sort.
