In Massachusetts, the average salary for a preschool teacher is around $23,000. However, Massachusetts has the highest paid prechool teachers in the country so the average for other states is lower. I'm sorry but I don't know those numbers.

This question is too general.

Public Schools tend to pay at least double what a daycare/preschool center pays. This is b/c public schools require teachers to have a degree in education and a passing grade on the Praxis teacher exams. Private daycare/preschools do not require such stringent means - usually a high school diploma with (or without) CDA classes are acceptable.

Public Schools in the NYC tri state area, and California, tend to pay teachers more than elsewhere in the United States.

Abbott districts (poorer areas) tend to pay even more b/c of the environment.

In New Jersey the average public school preschool teacher (full time with no endorsement) is approximately 40,000 dollars a year.

Daycare/private preschools tend to pay anywhere from 9.00 - 14.00 dollars an hour.

Are you looking to go to college for a degree? It is more advantageous financially to do this instead of working in preschool right out of high school. You can get worked too hard!

Hope this helps.

i hear anywhere from 17,000-24,000 depending on where u live. The bonus is that in many places you can have you children (if u have any) attend for free or a very small fee. Add that to what you make and its not as bad. Also the YMCA gives free memberships for working there. Look for somewhere w/good benefits since the pay is soo low.

Depends on where you are at and how many classes and students you have.
