If the are combating the duly and legally elected government, they are insurgents. If they block the roadways without government permission, they are insurgents. If they fire on the US military, Iraqi military, or Iraqi police force, they are insurgents.

Watch the movie call "Red Dawn" filmed about 10 years ago. It is about the USA being invaded and is an exact reflection of Iraq.....only visa versa. When you do, then you will fully understand the Iraqis.
