Because the colour white doesn't attract heat. If it were black, for example, then it would attract the sun and all the food on the inside of the fridge would go bad.

White is the best reflector of light. Easier on the eyes to spot things hiding in the deep recesses of the contraption.

It's actually so the inside looks bigger than it really is. Light colours give the illusion of space while dark colours contract a space. That's also why you have a nifty little light in there. It's not just so you can see better, but also to 'amplify' the illusion of space.

It is white because then it attracts less heat.
The theory is the lighter the colour, the lesser heat it attracts.
So white attracts less heat than any other colour.

I believe that it is because white looks clean. You wouldn't want black or red now would you???
