It's pseudoephedrine
What is pseudoephedrine?
Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant. It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in the nose, lungs, and other mucus membranes. By decreasing blood flow to the nose, lungs, and other areas, pseudoephedrine decreases congestion, and airways are opened up.
Pseudoephedrine is used to treat congestion associated with allergies, hay fever, sinus irritation, and the common cold.
Pseudoephedrine may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

I take Percocet for pain, and they have the number 0636 on one side and a line through the other side. Maybe all pills have a number like this? Your pharmacist could tell you if you have a good relationship with him/her (although they may confiscate the pill.) If you're worried about him using drugs recreationally, you could also call a drug abuse hotline and ask them what it is. Unless you're scared of hubby, ask him - but also try to find out what it is cuz if he's an addict he will lie. I know tht because I used to be an addict (although not pills.) Don't fret too much, there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Do you have reason to believe that your husband may be doing something illegal? Tell him you found the pill in his drawer and ask him if he knows what it is. If he seems uninterested in answering, or answers you with "how do I know" where it came from.......hang on to it. Take it to a the pharmcy you deal with and ask the pharmacist. He'll be able to tell you, and if not, chances are....it's prbably something illegal.

I searched for "257" in the drugs.com forum database, and found that link. But it's possible that the number 257 could be on a couple different pills.

Why are you asking this question here? This looks like trolling to me. Attention-seeking. I don't believe your story. If, only if, it's true, call the doctor and ask him to identify this pill.

Does it really matter? Throw it out! If you're that curious, take it to a pharmasist and they will be able to tell you what it is.
