We have been taught to have a naturalist point of view. It has been said that if something is not scientifically proven, then it will be given enough time; however, this "quest" to be open-minded has led to a close-minded approach to certain things such as miracles. If miracles are ruled out from the very beginning, how can we say that we approaching a subject with an open mind?

On the other hand, I think that the word "miracle" is overused, and, consequently, abused. Waking up in the morning is not a miracle, it is a gift. Giving birth to a beautiful baby is not a miracle, it is a gift. A miracle is divine intervention, but not simply for the sake of divine intervention. If you study the miracles that are recounted in Scripture, they always point to something greater. In fact, in the gospel of John, they are referred to as "signs."

The greatest of these miracles is the resurrection, which to this day has not been proven a fabrication. All other explanations cannot account for the evidence that has been provided by the witness of Scripture. I could go into more detail on this point, but it is not necessary for the question at hand.

All the books of the New Testament (NT) were written within 60 years of the events that they describe, and their validity could have easily been disproven, but they were not. For those who believe that the NT was brought together centuries later, get your facts from actual resources, not The DaVinci Code. It might be a good novel, but it is a terrible historical resource.

It boils down to an issue of worldview. In our modernist mindset, we are taught that miracles cannot happen and that we have to be open to other possibilities. In reality, this is closing off one possible option that needs to earnestly be explored and offered up when all other possibilities fail.

I subscribe to the "Life of Brian" view on miracles. Everything is a miracle if that's the way you wish to see it. "The soap bubbles when you rub it on your hands! It's a miracle!" I prefer to think of a miracle as an event that has has no possible scientific explanation. What some other people will settle for, I will not.

Here is the scoop;

God could perform miracles nearly every day. And sometimes HE does and you just don't here about it.

Just because God does not perform a miracle does not mean He loves you any less. In fact, the greatest miraclehappened 2000 years ago. When God sent HIS only Son to die for you so that you could have life eternal. Read John 3:16 & 17
That my beloved is the best and greatest miracle God could ever perform!

For the most part yes. I am sure that God does still do miracles but we live in an age of faith where God has demanded that we believe in Him without seeing. (2 Cor 5:7 - For we walk by faith not by sight.) Many studies have been done into " healers" and almost all of them cannot produce proof of any provable healings. Katherine Kolman who is considered one of the greatest healers, when her whole life was examined by 60 minutes they could not document even one true healing in her whole life ministry. Jesus said that evil and adulterous generation seek for signs and no signs will be given. What is evil? The love of money is the root of evil. Last year Benny Hinn took a 7 day vacation and spent $250,000 on himself in 7 days. What does that tell you about healers.

If an event brings someone closer to God, that's a miracle! To debunk an event that brings a person to God is wrong. If your child came away from the TV and said, "Dad, I was watching cartoons, and they convinced me to stop lying, stealing, and to work harder in school", would you forbid him to watch? Would you tell him it's only a show?

Benny Hinn is a giant phony, a scam artist, and should be thrown in jail for robbing people of their money and selling them hope.

There, I said it, and I hope TBN calls me and asks me to come in so they can show me different. Think about it, if someone can "heal" people miraculously, then WHY ARE THERE STILL SICK CHILDREN IN HOSPITALS!!! GO HEAL THEM!

But, oh, they can't the phony pieces of crap, because they can only "heal" on TV. Bunch of crap, and idiots buy into it every single day.

They "love the lord", yet, sit on velvet chairs, with ornate very expensive settings, with thousand dollar wigs and makeup, and gold watches and diamond rings, all the while, all over the world, children suffer and are hungry.

PHONY B*STARDS, ALL OF THEM, AND IT REALLY GETS MY GOAT.

To hell with Benny Hinn, and all others who sell hope and sell the "Lord" for money, while performing TV miracles.

Please, TBN, please, call me, please bring me on TV and make me prove my point. But, you won't, because you are cowards too, and you don't want your audience hearing the truth.

Huh, a lot like most christians.
