There is a verse in Quran that forbids people from marrying the wives of prophet Muhammed after his death. Yet, many of his widows were so young (under 20) when he died at age 63! Those include Aisha, Hafsa, Safeya, Rayhana... and others
What was the reason for god to forbid such young ladies from marrying?

I think if they had a choice they would not have been married again also.
they were married to someone they loved so much, that they remained faithful to his memory through the years.

Good question - but the Prophet's wives (may Allah be pleased with them) were labelled the "Mothers of the Believers." This was in the sense that due to their wisdom and knowledge of Islam through the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him,) the generations to follow were to admire and respect them as their mothers. In the sense that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was the best role model and example, no one could even think of marrying them again (unless of course Allah allowed it and willed it to be so.) That is why they were forbidden for marriage. And correct, there was to be no better husband than the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him.)

They are the mothers of the believers, and they are not like all women, plus, the prophet peace and blessings upon him is not just some guy who died and left his wives, and that is it.. no, he is more than just that, he is a prophet, and we must respect him, and the companions were right about not marrying his ladies, because they are not just somebody's wives like I said, they are the wives of the prophet..

They were and still are the mothers of believers like others told. They were chosen for us to show the truth and the right behaviours for women. They were not ordinary people so God can forgive them easily. Because of that they were worth of to being chosen, they didnt have so much wrongs in their life like us! And Prophet Muhammad had so much marriages in His life because at that time when He lived, there were wars and so much alone and desperate women in the area, He mostly married with them to protect them. We cannot compare Him and His wives with us.

because they became the mother of the believers.
Quran ch33
[6] The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers...."
not sure if they will be their mothers in the paradise or no.
also those women are not like any other women, they are part of the prophecy family.

Perhaps because he feared that other men would seek to marry them only because they had been Muhammed's wife. I am just guessing as I am not a Muslim.
