Until they are one years old.
I give my kittens junior food for now but at the same time i put a small bits of adult food since they have to get used to it.
I have always available dry junior foor and I give them cans twice a day.
I also try to get them used in having their teeth brushed and their coat brushed as well. :)

The bag usually recommends 1 year, however my father-in-law, a vet, recommends taking them off earlier if you notice the cat starting to fatten up. Wednesday, my cat, came off kitten food at 9 months because she was chunking up and my other cat, Eliza, was only on it until 7 months because she ate like a horse (and still does).
He says an easy weigh to judge appropriate kitty weight is whether you can feel the ribs (near the spine) without pressing. An average weight cat , you should be able to just feel the ribs... If you can't feel them, then it's time to cut the kitten food.

Not longer then 6 months. After that you should feed them regular food. Try not to give them softfood (cans) but change the diet to hard food. First it is good for their teeth and second the breath doesn't smell as bad. Just give them softfood as a treat once in a while.
Also if you love your cat get them used to have their teeth brushed from young age.

I'd say a year. Even though they may reach full size by 6 months, their metabolism will still be high, and they'll need the extra nutrients. Keep dry cat food where they can get at it any old time, and offer canned in the morning and evening.
